Boyfriend Dog Sweater (XX-Small)

I love that this sweater fit so well on my handsome boy. I didn’t think it were possible for him to ever look more dashing. We bought this for him in October 2019. He started growing some sort of mass on his right cheek. We took him in to get samples taken, then taken in again for a biopsy since the sample wasn’t enough. The biopsy came back inconclusive, so we were referred over to a specialist. We’ve already taken him in and out of the vet twice already, then the clinic took forever to answer their phones. When they finally answered, they said the specialist didn’t have any availability for another three weeks. The mass was growing bigger and bigger, then one day, the same day that would have been the birthday of my father who just recently passed in the same month I bought this sweater, he started all of a sudden bleeding uncontrollably from his mouth. We rushed out to the ER Vet which happened to be the same clinic that took forever to answer their phones. They took him in for emergency care. We were told that the mass has been eating away at his tissue in his throat and jaw. That’s what was causing the bleeding. They took xrays that night and saw over two dozen tumors all along his lungs. In two days, we were finally able to take him home. He was still bleeding a lot both from his incision (incision made to get a chunk of the mass to send off to the lab) and from his mouth. He couldn’t pick up balls or sticks anymore and just gave up eating. The clinic took the maximum time to get back to us with his results. We were 10,000 deep in payment for his treatment and had a gofundme going to help with his radiation and chemotherapy if it were an option. They said we could have tried and was given 3 months, but highly likely to be much less than that. The results showed the worst case scenario, the worst form of cancer. We had no choice but to take his pain away. His health dramatically declined in just the few days he was home for. My whole point in this review is to show how well this sweater fit this beautiful boy. The size chart and other reviews are amongst the most honest I’ve ever seen on amazon. People kept saying it was the sock monkey sweater whenever we went out and I always made sure to correct them and say that it’s the “boyfriend sweater!” It was more often called a sock monkey sweater because I got it before Halloween which made it funny, but he made it his own. He was a lot of people’s boyfriend. He was my best friend. I’m writing a review to not only express my honest opinion and complete satisfaction of the product, but to also have it stop popping up on my home page to review since it reminds me of him. It was our favorite article of clothing for him and the most fitting and flattering. It does well in the washer and dryer too. His name was Jethro. He will live in our hearts forever and we made sure to let him go in our favorite sweater.

I put this on my pig... no joke. It was adorable and kept him much happier in the winter.

LOVE this sweater and so does my Tango! I bought the XXL and it fits him perfect! I didn't measure him, I just went by the reviews and they were very helpful! Tango is 75lbs and he's a lab mix (not sure what he's mixed with, he's a rescue dog)!

This sweater fits my Weimaraner perfectly! Broad enough in the chest area but is even long enough to reach his tail. Not to mention it is very classy and the v-neck is perfect for a bow tie.

It's nice quality, and fits my stocky 65-70lb pitbull well.

As you can see sweater fits perfectly, The hardest part of ordering this stuff is getting the size right. I have a small collection of stuff that doesn't fit. You try to read the reviews and people will say it fits great without mentioning what size they ordered or the size of their dog. I have the X-large sweater and Tucker is a 60lb 2yo Labrador. He doesn't like putting it on but doesn't want to take it off either. Haven't washed it yet, I'd be careful 110% wool.

Bought this sweater to help my dog stay warm on walks during the winter in upstate NY. He's a 55 pound Australian Cattle Dog/German Shepherd mix and an EXTRA LARGE fit him perfectly! This is a huge bonus because it's very tough to shop for larger dogs. The sweater itself is high quality and covers a good portion of the body, but also doesn't interfere when he needs to relieve himself. No problems putting it on or taking it off and he gets a LOT of compliments whenever we go to the dog park!

The quality of this sweater is astounding. It's a very well knit, beautifully stitched sweater made of medium weight wool. It's probably better quality than anything in my own closet.I went with an XL for my lab mix and it fits him beautifully. It's a *little* tight around the neck, but I have a feeling that will stretch a bit over time. The length, girth and armhole placement are all perfect. He's 57-58 lbs, about 22-23" from neck to tail, and his chest measures a touch over 27". The very base of his neck is around 19". He has a lean, fairly slim build and a slightly deep chest.We also found it very easy to get on and off -- something that's usually a bit of a struggle with any sweaters that don't have closures on them -- but still may want a little looser fit if you have an older dog, especially if they have any arthritis issues in their front legs.Also, after reading some of the reviews, I feel like I should repeat this: it is wool. Wool. 100% WOOL.If your dog is hairless or has a short coat and sensitive skin, you should either get something made of cotton, synthetic, merino, or a wool blend instead -- OR have something like that for them to wear underneath this.If you want something soft and snuggly for them to wear, do not buy this at all. Because it's wool. It's not cashmere, it's not angora, it's not cotton, it's not a wool blend. It's not merino wool, and doesn't appear to be chemically treated. It's straight-up tough, sturdy wool.

Beautiful sweater. My pup got a lot of compliments. He loved it. Fit perfect. Warm but not too warm. Washes well.
