RUSTY!
Others seem to like it however I bought mine in March according to the receipt and now here in June it has already begin to rust. Maybe I got a bad one or maybe I'm the only person to notice. If you're looking for a quality long lasting product, this is not it in m experience. Picture attached if you'd like to see what it looks like. Very disappointing.

Much Better Than Expected
This rod is of much better quality than I expected. While it is made up of one tube inside another, they fit very closely and there is an almost invisible plastic transition collar that makes the curtain hooks slide easily over the joint. There are very clear directions on a label affixed (a little too firmly) to the inner tube, and I was able to install the rod in less than five minutes without any ptoblem.Trying to anticipate any corrosion problems, and to help keep the rod clean, I wiped the whole thing down _very_ lightly with WD40 (R). I suggest others do the same as no stainless steel is 100 percent stainless.A very good product, installed much easier than I had expected, stays in place well, and all the small details have been taken care of. I recommend this product to anyone who takes the time to read and follow the installation directions.

Sturdy and a better design than most spring-loaded ones
Our new home looked like it used good materials everywhere except for the guest/secondary shower rods! They were CHEAP plastic that was chrome-coated.Eventually as it got colder, they contracted and fell in both the rooms within a week of each other. One fell on its end and broke the plastic receptacle that held the rubber "foot" so it was out of commission.I wanted a new shower curtain rod anyway even though I probably could have "MacGuyver"-ed them both. After seeing how these were installed (spring loaded, but you can move the starting point by locking it into position), I was sold. Typically the simple spring-loaded ones use a fixed length spring and internal base so a wider shower opening means weaker spring strength. With these, you can adjust where the internal spring base starts, so you can have a powerful spring tension no matter what your shower width (within specs!).Our showers are about 50" wide and these were a perfect fit. I just held them up to the opening, pulled out the rod an additional 1-1.5", twisted it to set the internal spring base, and then compressed them and installed them.So far so good, and they definitely feel sturdy! I've got the shower curtain liner, shower curtain, and occasionally hang towels on the rods with no issues.I don't anticipate any issues as these seem rock-solid so far!

Finally a shower rod that works and holds up. ...
Finally a shower rod that works and holds up. No rust or breakdown yet. You have to extend the pole a little bit and start twisting. Something that I learned is that you should put a sticker near the part of the pole that goes in so you can see if you are twisting back the tension or twisting and pushing it in.Once I put the sticker on, I was able to turn the device in a much straighter fashion. Without the sticker, I was twisting and reducing the width of the pole.I wore my weight lifting gloves. You have to keep turning and turning (build tension) and you will wonder if the pole is broken or not. Don't give up. Just keep turning until you feel the tension. Then go to the area and install the pole.

Finally after weeks of disappointment over the first shower tension rod purchased we have ...
Finally after weeks of disappointment over the first shower tension rod purchased we have success with this InterDesign one. Having had a lovely floor to ceiling tiled shower put in it was decided not to drill in order to install a shower rod. Best laid plans and all that as we seem to use the smaller shower more when the first curtain rod persistently fell down. So anybody out there stalling at laying out a few extra dollars more than a box store one, - forget it! Aggravation free days alone are worth it. Currently this new rod stays up, seems solidly placed and we're beginning to breathe and use the new shower again. Well packed, follow instructions as others have said and hey presto. Oh and it looks nice too, matches our stainless look plumbing and the hooks move smoothly along it.

Very nice purchase. Recommended.
This tension rod works well and looks very nice. It took me a few minutes to pay attention to the instructions to get the knack of how to hang it. But after that, it was easy to install and adjust. You must FIRST turn the rod to loosen it and then pull the ends to extend rod to about 1.5 inches LONGER than the length of your shower walls. Then turn the rod in the other direction to tighten it and lock it at that longer length. THEN put it into place in your shower, squeeze the length of the tension rod (there are springs inside) to shorten it to fit tightly into the space where it will hang. Easy and I recommend this shower rod!

TERRIBLE PRODUCT!
This product arrived on time. However, it does not work!!!!! When we received the rod the spring was on the outside of the rod and one of the ends fell off. Although we messed with it for a long time we could not figure out how it could possibly work. It would not stay up in the shower even with nothing hanging on it because the spring was on the outside and there was no tension whatsoever. I don't know if the rod we received was just made wrong or if others have had this problem. TERRIBLE PRODUCT!!!!!!

Excellent Non-Screw Solution
I thought I'd give this one a certain amount of time to fail before I reviewed it. And even though it's only been 3 months or so, the piece of Moen crap that it replaced is long forgotten. This, as other folks have mentioned, is a properly engineered curtain rod for those of us who cannot screw one's ends into a wall, or studs. I must stress that you read the installation instructions 2 or 3 times to make sure you understand how it works. It is a "tension" rod, so its internal spring has to be adjusted, by you, before you squeeze it into its proper place. We're very happy with this rod and for the price, it's a 5-star product.

Item as described
Fast delivery, easy install, and does what it has to do.But needed to extend 1/4 inch longer than suggested to get better strength for a somewhat heavy curtain.
