Looks nice. Isn't too expensive. Performance seems adequate for me.
USB hubs are too expensive but this one is close to reasonably priced and it's nice for what it is. The aluminum housing adds some needed weight to keep the thing from sliding all around. It also probably helps with thermals, as sometimes USB devices you plug into hubs will produce excess heat. I can't really review the actual USB 3.0 performance of this thing because my hardware isn't really up to it. I have a computer that was manufactured around the time when USB 3 was first starting to show up and the fastest USB 3 device I have is a Sandisk 64 gig flash drive. I did a test and transferred about 40 gigs of movies to that drive plugged into this hub and I got about 34 MB/s. Not really that fast but still way faster than the crappy USB 2 hub it replaced. Not a big deal for me. I bought this as a modest upgrade for a very old and junky USB 2 hub. And I bought it because I need a USB hub that works. If I can plug a USB device into it and it works, that's worth 15 bucks. I guess this is kinda silly to mention in a review but the packaging on this product is well done. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of cardboard but if it is, it's some kind of super cardboard because it has some real weight to it and if you knock on it, it almost sounds like some kind of wood....as odd as that sounds. Not a big deal but I guess it inspires some kind of confidence in a company that bothers to make nice packaging in 2016. I'll probably actually keep that box to store things in.EDIT - I have found that I have 2 Lexar USB 3.0 drives that do not work with this hub. No idea why. They are the ones with the plastic connectors so maybe that has something to do with it. All my other flash drives work with this.EDIT #2 (08/01/2016) - OK. Now I have found that my Sandisk USB 3.0 flash drive also isn't being recognized by this. Which is weird because I think it initially was when I first got it. So I don't know what that's about. Now this thing only seems to want to recognize the USB 2.0 devices I have. Which defeats the purpose of specifically buying a USB 3.0 hub. I don't think I can recommend this at this point. The connectors are still very stiff too (despite some use).

Perfect fit, finish and function. Excellent quality.
I purchased this based on reviews, I thought with almost 6,000 reviews this must be a decent product. Also because of the build quality, materials etc, all aluminum, the design is excellent and the fact that it could be powered is an absolute necessity. One important feature is that the plugs are in the back, out of the way and convenient. Another is the fact that it works flawlessly unplugged or plugged into external power supply, there was no difference. Sabrent sells this unit without the power supply but offers their own power supply sold separately. Some negative reviews were by individuals who said it wouldn't power their hard drives. Thats to be expected, more than one hard drive would need power I'm sure. I purchased this unit to be used with bolt connectors, keyboards and mice. I first plugged everything in and connected it to power. Functioned flawlessly. The next day I forgot to turn on the power (My power supply switchable) it still functioned flawlessly. I bought this dock because my $400. desktop docking station had issues with my Logitech Bolt USB receivers, keyboards This Sabrent dock is very inexpensive and very high quality. I'm ordering another! Using it right now to write this review with a Logitech bolt and keyboard. Perfect fit, finish and function.

For $15, I'll take it.
For $15 I like this. I wish there was an option to get the power adapter as a package deal for a better price than buying it separate. With that said, I did NOT buy the power adapter, I wanted to test it first and see if I needed one.I took this photo with my iPhone 7 Plus that is charging off it just fine. I have a Samsung T3 SSD that is getting the same ~400 read and write speeds it gets directly plugged into the Mac, I also have my Logitech mouse receiver plugged into it, and my Apple Watch charger. Everything was running simultaneously just fine, note my Watch is not being charged in this photo but I did test it.Except the mouse receiver does get occasional interference causing choppy cursor movements, Sabrent does warn about this though on Amazon and on their website. So expect this, the manufacture does warn about it.Also don't be fooled by my photo, my Apple USB Superdrive is plugged directly to the back of my iMac. I read Apple doesn't support this device working through even powered hubs, but there might be a work around on the internet *hintI was tempted to only give 3 stars because the item is not as pictured on Amazon, the item I received is the newest one Sabrent sells directly on their website, which actually has the same photos on their own website. The one I received does have their brand logo on the front beneath the ports, although it is faint and not distracting thankfully. Also an LED which I would prefer not to have shining on all the time. It's a white light, you should be able to see it on my photo.I was a little annoyed placing it, because the cable that it connects to is short and very stiff. It's hard to put the hub just where you want it and for it to stay there. But for $15, this is an attractive product that functions as advertised.

Works great
This is very handy at a good price but the light is useless and unnecessary. It would be nice if there was a switch to turn the light off. You can’t sleep the computer the light is always on.

Sturdy, Solid Performance, aAnd It Looks Nice Too!
If you need a 4-port hub, I solidly recommend this Sabrent aluminum hub. Four years ago, I purchased a Sabrent hub for my Tesla. I still have it and it still works, even through extreme hot and cold weather. I purchased this aluminum hub for my Mac Mini, knowing full well that based on my experience with Sabrent, this will indeed do the job. This USB 3.0 hub is fast, and it looks great with it's aluminum enclosure. Yes, you can purchase hubs for a lot less money, but considering that I have to look at it every day, spending a bit more for the aluminum enclosure is worth it to me. There is an option to power this hub, but you'll have to purchase the over-priced plug separately, and quite honestly, I have so far found that this is not necessary. The computer powers this hub just fine for my needs. And finally, the rubber bottom ensures stability on your desk or table. It won't move around. So, if you need a stylish hub that is sturdy with plug-ins accessible, and don't mind spending a bit more for the aluminum enclosure, this is the one for you!

looks nice
Should have come with an adapter for 5v and the plug in the back is not really firm so it sometimes loses contact
