I can't believe it, but I do because I tested it. I make jewelry and have a few stores of my own. I do normally find that international sellers have a tendency to place cheap C-Clasps and Jump Rings on their jewelry and then have the chain itself as sterling. I'm use to seeing that and I really don't care for it, but it happens and I don't say anything about that, but these links are totally silver, not sterling. The code for sterling is .925. if you notice it says S925 on the charm. I don't know why the S would be on it unless it is for Silver with a portion of it as sterling, but the item tested all silver, not sterling. It really bothers me when this happens because if your using this permanently on a particular necklace that is all sterling, then in time you will have a gray piece of chain extension. To me that is tacky. Why do companies do this, simply to save money. They will go so far as just change a jump ring to silver or the clasp end to silver. The first time I saw this I was shocked. Now I can see at a distance the color change and to me it looks more gray. I have a trained eye for that because I make, sell and I feel it is my responsibility to know what I'm selling to my buyers. Not everyone is that way and before an unwary buyer finds out, it is past the return date to send back. Now you know. The choices is yours. Maybe fine if your just using on occasions to lengthen a necklace, but myself. I'm not happy at all. What a hassle and I only got these because they said sterling and my normal go to was out. Maybe some think I'm splitting hairs, but no. If you don't say something, the practice will continue and again, time will lapse and a buyer will have a gray chain extension. I'm going to Amazon now to get my money back.

This product will work for a variety of products. I am using one to replace a lost item on my ankle bracelet. Another one works for a necklace I have. I also got this item because it was sterling silver. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Many necklaces today are 16 inch these make them fit better. they go on easily and work well
