For anyone looking for a seperate card to provide USB3.0 support to a Rift S VR Headset, this worked for me. I'm also using a seperate graphics card (Radeon RX 570) and a 750watt power supply unit...I suspect some Rift S connection problems may be caused by having an underpowered PSU.Although my motherboard already had two built-in USB3.0 sockets, they werent working with the Rift S for some reason. It is quite an old motherboard however, so I suspect the dated hardware wasnt providing enough power to the USB's. This card sorted that out however, and my Rift S now stays connected.If you use Windows 10 (64 bit) then just let windows choose the drivers rather than using those supplied on the disc that comes with the card. Once the card is installed then I would also recommend going into Device Manager, look for the entries 'USB Root Hub 3.0' (probably at the bottom of the list) and in the 'power management' tab, disable the tickboxes that say ''allow the computer to turn off this device to save power''. Taking all those steps got my Rift S connected and functioning with no further issues.

It even states this in the manual, but nowhere on the product page here on Amazon;Though it is designed to fit into a PCI port (the small port) the card will not function properly as USB 3.0 ports unless it is plugged into a PCI-E port (the big one graphics cards plug into). It only gets registered as USB 2.0 otherwise. I bought this to plug a VR headset into my PC but I only had 1 PCI-E port on my motherboard and it's needed for the GPU. Complete waste of time getting this, though if you have a spare port it apparently should work fine.

I purchased this item to connect my Focusrite Interface (Scarlett 8i6 3rd Gen)Running my Scarlett interface through a normal USB Connection, 2.0 or 1.1 works however, you may experience clicks and pops when playing audio. Also, the sound quality of the audio will suffer.PCI -E to the rescue, this little gem needs to be connected to your internal power cable. (It comes with connectors) Just plug it into the PCI e-card and you will be up and running in no time (Windows 10 you will not need the driver that is in the box) Connect your Focusrite Interface and the difference in sound will be night and day.I will say my Focusrite sounds good but lacks bass 20hz to 20khz but once connected to USB 3.0 (although you can connect it to USB-C) the bandwidth is noticeable and the sound quality is much improved. If you have a Scarlett Interface 3rd Gen I would suggest getting a USB Adapter and not use your computer's USB port unless it is USB 3.0 and above. This adapter will breathe life into your devices.

Great expansion for your PC. Basically plug’n’play on Windows 10. Didn’t even have to install drivers - USB ports were recognized and ready to use straight away. And speeds are as expected from USB 3.0.

UpdateSo after just over 2 months this has stopped working. All that was ever plugged into it was an external sdd drive. It started connecting and disconnecting the drive randomly and now it just doesn’t recognise it at all.Original review below but as I said it’s lasted less than 3 months so not the best!This just works. Used in a 4 year old LGA1150 board to get the USB-C port for use with an external SSD. Plugged it in, powered it and turned the PC on and recognised perfectly fine. Windows 10 is the OS. Transfer speeds to/from drive are lightening quick so this did exactly what we needed it to. It was also decently priced when comparing to other similar items.Read reviews and decided to go with one that needs a separate power cable as ones without this can be underpowered and cause issues with devices not being recognised when plugged into them. This works brilliantly.

Third time's a charm! I tried 2 other cheaper USB3 expansion cards that did not work with everything I plugged into them. This one works with everything including VR sensors and HD web cams! SSD transfer speed is also great! If anything changes I will update this review but so happy that finally I found a card that works with everything..

I got this card today and excitedly installed it in my HP Pavilion Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit desktop PC. After a very bad experience with another supplier's card I expected wonderful things since this one comes with a driver CD. The install went smoothly, no problems at all; until...time to install drivers. On the back page of the manual is a notation that "KB2581464", available only from Microsoft because of their insane licensing scheme, is required. Well, folks, since Redmond stopped supporting Windows 7 they removed this download and it is no longer available. The included drivers get the card up and running, but without the MS download you won't get full USB3.0 speed. I'm beyond frustrated with all of this, having recently gone through a fiasco and resultant return of the other supplier's merchandise. At least this card does actually work...albeit not the way I expected it to. I can't in good conscience return this card since it does work, and I can't blame the manufacturer for the antics of one Microsoft Corporation; so I will limp along without the speed I expected to attain. If you are running Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 you will probably be fine. If like me you are sticking with Windows 7 you are probably out of luck. Unless your system installed that KB when it was available. I don't know if other cards require this or not, but I am through messing with it. No more trials for me...I will stay with what I have.Edit 8-21-2021Yesterday evening I got a notice of a software update available. Because I am still running Windows-7, I thought that was strange. Well, I installed the update and it was for the Fresco Logic drivers for this card.After the update completed I ran a USB speed test using USBView (downloadable from from Microsoft) and I now have USB-3 speeds from this card. I have raised my review to five stars to reflect this change.

Ayant pas mal de périphériques à brancher sur mon PC, j'ai installé dessus cette carte PCI. Elle fonctionne parfaitement bien. En plus, le port USB-C que j'utilise pour ma webcam fait son affaire pour avoir du 1080p 60fps.Si vous avez besoin de plus de ports USB, cette carte PCI est parfaite, n'hésitez pas.

Semplice e funzionale.
