Nice stove
I was happy with this purchase. It lights quickly and easily using its Piezo ignition feature. It puts out a nice hot flame that works well with my cast iron pans. It's less bulky than a two-burner propane stove but flatter and more stable than a one-burner propane stove which has the burner above a vertically placed bottle. It will do well on its own, or as a third burner when I bring the two-burner propane stove. I like how the butane canister fits inside its own compartment on the side. Butane is more available in retail stores now than it was in the past, and is easily purchased through Amazon as well. I would purchase this again. While butane is not as cost effective as bulk propane, for light use it's still economical and more convenient than bulk propane.

It cooks great. High heat over all.
10 year update: still going strong this summer for general camping. I don't use it often anymore because a lot has changed in 10 years, but not by any fault of this product.Original:This product works great and is light weight. Butane is harder to come by than propane these days, which is one inconvenience. But because of this, it houses the fuel canister nicely and more compact than propane systems, and the stove and fuel is less weight to store in a trunk or carry around. The system heats at a power that is pretty high over all. I can manage to simmer once I got used to how it cooks; I found that it has to be so low that it looks almost like the flame is not present or is about to go out in order to maintain a good simmer. Otherwise it boils. I've cooked on all kinds of gas and electric surfaces, which make this easy to get used to. HOWEVER, if you are not familiar with gas stoves, let alone various kinds of camping stoves, the temperature at which this device cooks might be hard for some to accommodate.I use this burner system while tent camping, car camping, at outdoor picnics, and in my studio space. I've cooked and simmered more than ten meals, plus stir fried and steamed at least as many and have not yet had to change the first fuel canister (it doesn't come with the item, but its good to know how far the butane made to fit the burner will go).

Appears to be of good quality and durable
I looked through the various stoves available here, and this one seemed to fit the bill. 10,000 BTU, Thermal Plate to keep can from getting cold as gas is discharged (one of those basic thermodynamic laws) to help use up fuel efficiently (which I'll have to take their word for but makes sense given my knowledge of thermodynamic concepts). The stove itself seems durable and sturdy, with a nice carrying case. The instructions are very clearly written. I'm not sure if battery for the spark mechanism will need changing eventually (not addressed in instructions), but looking inside, I can see where it is located, appears to be standard battery and easy to get to. Butane stove can fit perfectly and stove works as described. I couldn't be happier with purchase. I am pleased with the design, functionality, perfect fit case, clear instructions, and durable build. If I experience any problems with future use, will update review.

as good as the expensive ones in the gormet shops
I bought this because I am living in an apartment and will only be there for 2 months. I have to pay to get propane delivered, and they want $180 to set it up. I figured that is not worth it for a few months. The product is great and is actually heavier duty than some I have seen in restaurant supply houses. The pan is actually nice for a freebie, but I do not use non stick cookware, so I will likely give it away. I did use it once just to see how cooked. The only problem I have with it is that it was advertised as quote:"*** Usage a)The stove is safe and easy to use and goes anywhere. b)Great for work cooking,boating,camping,tailgating,backyard/patio or right on your dining room table. On the side of the burner it states it is for outside use only. I don't know many dining room tables that are outside, but I figure it will not be too dangerous, as I would have 4 burners going on a stove. The surface underneath it does not get hot at all, not even after cooking a stew for an hour on it. It works well, I just wish the butane cans were easier to get and lasted longer. I found only one local place that carries it and they have normal business hours. It gets quite hot, so even though I am used to chimerical burners (used to be a chef)I find it gets things hot quickly enough. I would recommend it, with the only caveat the fact that they advertise it for indoor and it says for outdoor on the device.

Great for camp or home, cooks things in a flash (errr.. hopefully not a explosive flash).
Great for making Sukiaki or any other confusing sounding Japanese dishes in the comfort of your own home. Also, don't use around curious cats. Singed whiskers can really take the romance off date night. That plus, putting out a burning cat is pretty tricky, and must be done quickly in order to avoid permanent damage to you, the cat, or any furniture they might run under.Works well with Gasone cylinders and highly recommended for outdoor use. Squirrels don't seem to be as curious about fire as the cats are. OH, it should also be noted that the builtin igniter and safety switch (detaches the butane) are well thought out and handy. Heat output is adiquate to bring water to a boil rapidly, and fuel consumption is moderate at best. For cooking things like bacon, pancakes, eggs, etc. full heat is NOT needed. This baby gets HOT on high heat. Be sure to allow adequate time for cooling prior to picking it up.
