I had the Westcott X-Drop before (and lost it, oops) and replaced it with this. Still a little flimsy, but sturdier than the Westcott version. I like that the stand stays together.The fabric doesn't show wrinkles but does attract dog hair, so be aware of that!

It's definitely travel worthy coming in at probably a few lbs. Once setup, it works well and dont really have any complaints. BUT, it's incredibly flimsy. I've used it 3 times so far and honestly wouldn't be surprised if it breaks in the next few uses. If it's something you plan on using often (or for important work) I would invest in 2 of them so you can have a backup when one of the legs inevitably break.

This is an excellent concept but incredibly poorly executed. The fault lies solely with the quality of the build- die cast metallic alloy that will not last a season, plastic hinges that will wear down in a short order. The fabric, while thick, is not immune to wrinkles and due to the flimsy construction there is a very definite limit to any torsion placed on the struts either due to failure of the joints or the weight the fabric pulling the item down.in order to get a smooth surface one must cantilever the backdrop at an angle away from the vertical, this does not relieve the wrinkles because there is no way to tighten the central joint and it is made of very flimsy plastic that will undoubtedly break at a time most unfortunate.This could be a game changer product with better materials, an ability to tighten a metal cam shaft foe the central hub, and thicker material for lower legs. The materials, are simply inferior in all respects other than the hooks to hold the background in place. Oddly enough, the resin material used for the hooks is vastly superior to the very cheap build in every other part of this.the backdrop included is tightly fit into a bag that is a bare micrometer larger than even the tightest rolled background - the material of the included bags is likewise of terribly poor quality and won’t last long in a busy environment.The fastening clasps on each leg are made from very poorly manufactured plastic and are also as likely to break as to not be strong enough to put pressure on the legs to hold them in place.As it exists now, the legs flex and bow under its own weight without even the background attached. I have had a significant uptick in clients wanting portraits in their home and this is an ideal size for a single persons portrait, possibly two. However i bring a backup collapsible backdrop because i know that one day soon, this flimsy stand will fold up.
