A delightful little anthology for bird lovers with lots of references and quotes from to a variety of literature and art,nicely illustrated .

I bought this for my wife. Her Father was called Robin. Just after he died, a robin would come to our back-yard and sit inches away when I was sawing up wood for the fire with a chainsaw. He was after the grubs from the wood, but showed no fear. After a while he came no more.The book is a delightful anthology. Like anthologies on any theme, true enthusiasts might criticise it for omissions. I won't criticise. It won me a kiss!
