The winner out of a pool of 8 different mounts. First impression very positive.
I ordered 8 different mounts, all roughly with the same functionality. The features I was looking for were wireless charging, automatic clamping allowing for one-handed operation, built-in battery so that the clamps open even after I turn off my car, and of course the looks. The bonus features would be silent operation and warranty, but not a deal breaker. This one was the winner for me. Here's why:Appearance/materials:-It looks pretty sleek and even though it's made out of affordable materials, which is what makes its price reasonable, it really doesn't look or feel cheap at all. The other mounts I compared it to, even the more expensive ones, did feel cheap, even though they were made of the same materials. This mount's front is made of scratch- and-stain resistant rubber material that feels very smooth and soft to touch. Everything else also feels well crafted and made with care. Didn't see any obvious defects in the paint like some of the other mounts had. No rattling or loose clamps. Overall, it leaves an impression of classy luxury, but nothing over the top. And thanks to the well designed clamps It looks great with or without the phone in it.Functionality:-The mount keeps the phone very secure. My phone doesn't have a case, but the clamps have plenty of room to fit a pretty thick case, probably even the ones with the wallet (I haven't tested that, so don't quote me on that).-It doesn't have a proximity sensor. It's a semi-automatic mount, meaning you have to input some sort of action for it to do something. I actually like it better that it doesn't automatically open and close. The others I tried did that too fast and you feel pressured to position your phone correctly within the split second that you have before the clamps close down. Besides, they are for the most part way too sensitive and feel "needy". This mount gives you plenty of time to decide what you want to do and how and once you do, does everything efficiently and fast. Touch on the chrome strip on either side of the bottom bracket and the clamps open or close if they're closed or open, respectively. It also closes the clamps automatically as soon as it connects the charger to your phone. Touch the strip again, it opens and waits for your next command/action.-Turn the power off, still works. Obviously doesn't charge your phone with the power off, but still opens and closes. Don't know how long the battery lasts, but enough to get your phone out if you forgot to before turning your car off. No need to curse and turn it back on. That was kind of a deal breaker for me.-Apparently, you can even extend the bottom bracket down for larger phones. Didn't use that feature because it fit my 11 Pro well the way it came.Noise:-One of my favorite features of this mount is how insanely quiet it is. You hear it work only in complete silence if you put your ear within a couple of inches of the mount. None of the others were that quiet. Even the most quiet ones had easily audible gears. This just adds to the luxury feel of the mount.Charging:-Don't have much to say there yet. Starts charging immediately and seems to charge fast. Supposed to support up to 10W after all, even though I don't need that. Anyway, we'll see how it holds up against active use of maps and other apps on the phone.Mounting in the car:- I have a custom set up in my car, so I did not mount it to the air vents. The clamps, however, feel very sturdy and strong with the hook at the end. I can see it working well and staying secure in the vents.Cons:The only thing I can think of is maybe the bottom bracket is a little too wide. Makes it hard to unlock the newer iPhones that don't have a home button. But I got used to that pretty fast and started using either of the bottom corners to unlock the phone. You can even manage to do it in the middle, but it's a little awkward to do that.Overall, a winner for me. First impression that is. Hopefully it lasts and continues to work/look this well. 3/12 months of warranty is definitely a plus.

So far, Really Nice
I gave this as a Mother's Day present. Every time my wife gets in the car she pulls out her phone and plugs it in then she has to put it on the passenger seat or somewhere on the console while driving. With this, you pop it in, it closes; no cord to find and plug in; Bluetooth connects by itself; its visible and accessible to the driver and its being charged. What more could you want? The dashboard is textured but it still stuck to it and lasted quite a while despite holding the monster iPhone 8+. When it came loose we mounted it so the weight is not solely supported by the suction cup as you can see in the picture. hopefully that stays. If not, this holder works so well that I'll make a little bracket for it. The vent clip isn't an option for this car because the vents have little grille holes. I'll be ordering one for myself soon.FYI: For monster phones you have to pull out the bottom holder a few clicks so the phone will be in the middle charging point properly. Still works with my iPhone SE though.

Does its job well, few small hiccups
I have used this device for a couple of weeks now and I like it. The charging is fast enough I can have music playing and navigation on and the phone still gains charge. There are a few small things I would change if I could. For instance, my phone is a Pixel 4 - not one of the huge monster phones everyone has now, and the side grips cover the volume buttons. They don't press hard enough to change the volume, but they prevent the use of the volume buttons while the phone is in the holder. I have the bottom rest as "short" as it will go, but that doesn't get the phone up high enough to expose the volume buttons. The device wasn't supposed to have the auto close feature, but it does close automatically when I set the phone on it.Opening and closing is smooth and *quiet*, but sometimes doesn't operate if it is very cold out.

Pleasantly surprised
When I got this I was a little concerned because it feels like it might break easily. But I've been using it for several weeks now, including taking it on a two week trip where it was in a 4x4 SUV going up and down a 15 minute bone jarring rocky road with 45 degree angles and ruts. My iphone 8 plus (with case) never budged and charged with no issues. Then I stuffed the thing into my backpack to fly home. Bravo.

Useful phone holder
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I would recommend this car holder! it has two ways to stable, stick or clip! The holder include wireless phone charge (still work with phone case). My favor part is the touch sensor on both sides, by touch one side, the holder will release/clamp, even I turn off my car, it still works!I did put my phone and charge for 35-40mins, either my phone or charger/holder still keep temperature, not getting hot!So on, I love this holder!

Stylish and functions very well
I ordered this device as a replacement for a piece bought on amazon from another seller which my husband complained frequently of the instability. This came as a surprise and my husband and I was totally blown away by the product. This truly deserves 5 stars.* The price is very reasonable. The quality of the material doesn’t look cheap at all. It’s very neat and stylish.* The holder opens up and closes to our phone sizes automatically with finger touch sensor. It holds the phone securely. The added bonus is that it didn’t make much noise and opens and closes silently and very smoothly.I will definitely order more during the holiday season as gifts for family members! Buy with complete confidence!

Too sensitive
The touch bottoms on the side are too sensitive, you hardly brush them and it keeps the cradle opening.
