T1000 Gen 2 Target Hit Indicator

I utilize a range that goes out to 400 yards, with steel targets at various distances. With hearing protection on, you can't always hear the strikes on steel. This device gives a visual indication to my spotter and me. As I use it more, I will edit this review. Right now, it is absolutely a 5-star item.Update - I now own 5 of these and they continue to be a 5-star product. I recommend you only use the velcro that comes with the indicator (or replacements from Magnetospeed website). I tried some generic velcro from a big-box store, and it didn't hold securely.Second update - still doing great - I work in a large gun store and show videos of these to all my customers. They instantly grasp the potential uses. My club now has targets all the way to 650 yards...I have attached velcro to the back of select targets so I don't have to worry about missing the sound of a hit.

This product does take a couple minutes of setup time but is definitely worth it. Used it at a shooting match with roughly 100 competitors using two of these on two separate targets and they held up well. Even when the early morning sun came up behind the berm at the end of the range and you could barely see the target, the indicator was still perfectly visible. The reflector took multiple hits on both units throughout the competition but it did not alter its effectiveness at all. If you are looking to really stretch out the legs on a rifle past where the steel ringing is audible, or just make life easy for ROs calling hits, I highly suggest this item.

This hit indicator is amazing. You can easily see it during the day. And at night, it's blinding through a scope. Ingenuous how you can program it through your phone with sound. And it has a bunch of games you can play with it too. Sadly, you need multiple hit indicators to make the games more pleasurable. The Velcro stickers didn't seem to stick to our steel when we were trying to remove the indicator, the sticky side against the steel peeled right off. Don't think that's a problem with the Velcro provided but an issue with our steel. Just had to buy more Velcro strips. Great product, highly recommend.

Highly recommend this product! As an instructor there’s nothing like instant feedback on your hits. The “ping” is always a good thing but add in visual feedback with the audible feed back and it’s great. Also comes with a spare view window for those unplanned near misses that hit the view window. Now my window has taken a lot of hits before I replaced it (I teach a lot of beginner classes) and this thing is still rocking and rolling. Battery life is phenomenal.

I have a half dozen of the old indicators, they are great! I bought this new one, unboxed it in the field and realized that I have to download an app. It registered one hit on our 1,790 target, but then did not show the next 8 hits. When I got into cell range, I downloaded the app, but it is not user-friendly. I think I will need to try to sell this unit to one of the engineers that developed it, it is probably very easy for them to figure out. If you are extremely tech savvy, you can probably figure it out, but I am not very smart evidently.Also, unlike Gen I version, this one has such a tight fit in the sleeve that it is almost impossible to get the parts apart and together. When it is in the sleeve, it is so tight that when I tap the unit I can't even get the lights to flash. I am very disappointed. I have wasted too much time trying to figure out the unhelpful video, the instructions are not helpful and thank goodness I have the old generation ones that work pretty well.Anybody want to trade my Gen II for your Gen I?

This device works great on steel targets out to 1200 yards, past about 900 it's difficult to spot hits even with good glass, the red flashes are easy to see so there's no doubt that you have a hit. So far I haven't seen a hit that didn't flash. I bought five for my range and have used these in the past for PRS matches too, the product works.

The 2nd gen user must register the unit and program through cellphone. The connection process is very very frustrating. you have to tab the unit(waking up unit) and play a 8 sec sound ( like the fax machine ) from your phone. I watch the instructions video prior. One unit took me 10 mins to successfully connect and 2nd unit took me 40 mins to connect and transfer the program. You have to keep trying and trying to hope the unit connect. My ears were ringing for an hour after due to keep playing that programming noise to the unit. I won’t buy anymore unit. It is very frustrating everytime when you want to change the sensitivity through connecting with your cellphone.
