Looks and smells old. Is old. Can't be returned.
Dill appears to be in short supply, and I'm doing a lot of pickling, so instead of being able to purchase a small bag I had to purchase two of these. That would have been fine except what arrived bore no resemblance to dried or freeze dried dill that had once been fresh. The color has a brown grey tinge, the dill itself doesn't even have much of a smell. Clearly old and/or badly stored. I thought I could return it because it's Prime but I can't. Complete waste of money.

Not for Italian recipes - smells and tastes like licorice!
If you want it for Italian cooking, do not buy this!It looks good and there is a lot of it, but it smells like licorice and tastes like licorice too. I googled "basil tastes like licorice" and found there are varieties of Thai basil that taste and smell like licorice, and are used in Asian food. But the description for this item describes how it is "a sweet, green, aromatic herb that is a staple in most Italian and Mediterranean recipes." This smells and tastes nothing like the basil used in Italian recipes. They should describe it as Thai basil, and say it is for Asian recipes, not Italian recipes.

Bargain value herb with bargain value flavor
I consider myself an exceptionally amateur chef who enjoys using a variety of flavors when cooking. I almost exclusively cook salmon using heaps of dill, and have used various brands as well as fresh.First, this is a LOT of dill weed. The two bags are stuffed full so I would recommend this if you use a lot of dill throughout a year. You definitely get a lot for your money.Upon opening the bag I noticed the scent was present but not potent. From 1-10, with 1 being stale/dry/odorless and 10 being fresh, I would place it around a 5. The dill from a local spice shop usually is around 7 but at a higher cost. If I were making dill salmon, or any other dish where the dill flavor needed to shine, I would not use Yamees Dill Weed. However, I did use Yamees Dill Weed to make grilled salmon twice. I use an indiscriminate amount of dill when making my salmon to the point where the fish usually begins its cooking with 1/8" layer all over it. In both instances the dill flavor was underwhelming and overpowered by the small amount of salt and pepper I also seasoned the fish with. You could still taste the dill, but it was much more of an accent flavor than the powerful flavor I was aiming for. It was disappointing, but I knew not to expect the same flavor I typically get with fresh dill. Again, on a scale from 1-10, Yamees Dill provided a flavor of about 4. The local spice store's dill typically gets to 8.Overall, this is an OK product so long as your expectations are commensurate with the price. This is perfect for any recipe that calls for dill as more of a visual aid (bread or veggie dip) rather than a main flavor. This also would be perfect if you use a lot of dill on your dish but don't demand a strong dill flavor while eating. If dill flavor is important, it is my opinion that you should seek a higher quality product even if it is a higher cost.

Excellent product
This dill weed is excellent. I love that it comes in 6-ounce packages with zip closure because it is easy to use and the packaging helps to keep it fresh. These taste is frest and great, the package opens easily and is wide enought to use a spoon or the shake out when cooking. I use this when making rice and vegetable dishes.

Almost perfect for my needs--See Update
Update: This review is for dried vegetables; not herbs. The seller listed a different product on top of existing file which included reviews for their dried vegetable, aka soup mix. I have never purchased the herbs.--------Original Review: I purchased this vegetable mix primarily to use at work in ramen or cup-a-soups; although it does take longer to "cook" than instant broth. My idea was to use it in lieu of the high sodium "flavoring" packets. I actually tossed some in a blender and blended some to a powder. While it doesn't work to make a broth in this circumstance, the veggies (whole) are a nice addition--I just am sure that I let them soak for a good ten minutes before making up the rest of my "instant" soup.I've also added the veggies to my rice cooker along with an extra splash of water.

Thyme is great but...
One of the packages came with a hole in the bag. Thyme spilled everywhere. I’m requesting a refund or replacement and will update my review on what happens.

Dont buy this. Rip-0ff
This dill has NO flavor. Probably 2 years old. Unfortunately it's food product so amazon won't refund my money.Therefor, I will amazon since this is incredibly bad. I added one teaspoon to 8-egg, egg-salad= no flavor. Added another teaspoon still no flavor. Did not add more since egg salad was green.

nice huge bag!
I buy a 8oz jar of dried basil at a store but they stopped selling them and I found it with just as pretty much the same reasonable price as I buy at a store.Saved my life! I sprinkle of it for pretty much for any meal i eat and I was really stressed when the store stopped selling them..As long as they don't raise the price then I would stick with this brand so please don't raise the price!!!
