Fisticuffs Pine Scent Strong Hold Mustache Wax 1 Oz. Tin

I have a handlebar moustache for years now and experienced a lot of different products, some good some bad, cheap ones, expensive ones, pretty much every type and this is my favorite. The scent is great, the hold is great, really easy to apply and it dissolves in the hair in seconds you can’t see any traces.I really recommend this product, is the best I tried.

My mustache curls naturally but wax keeps it clean so I thought I’d give this a try. I like how easy it is to apply, if I keep it in my pocket it heats it up sufficiently enough to apply without hassle. It barely smells like anything which some may enjoy. That being said, if I open my mouth for any reason the wax fails to hold until I fidget with my hair once more. I would not call this a “Strong Hold” product. I personally have to re-apply several (4-5) times a day to get it to look the way I would like. Thanks for reading!

So, the world of mustache waxes is rather convoluted. There are so many brands with so many claims and there is NO standardization of features. For example, literally any of them can claim "strong hold" and VERY few of them actually deliver on that particular claim. Because of the disparity in feature claims and delivery and the hazy definitions of the features to begin with I think you have to review mustache wax in a comparative manner.First, it does have a light piney aroma. That's important to note since many claim particular fragrances that you are entirely unable to smell. The fragrance is fairly light and not particularly noticeable after an hour or two but it is fairly pleasant when you first put it on.After fragrance we get to the more important question, how does it work? Despite their claim of a "strong hold" it is not, in fact, a strong hold. Now, while I do find this claim to be false and misleading I don't find it to be a negative feature. Its light hold is simply a feature to be taken into account and considered along with the other features of the product.The hold of the vast majority of moustache waxes depends on one factor: how hard is the wax? If the wax is soft and easy to work the hold will not be strong. If it is hard and requires you to heat it up to even dream of applying it the hold will be a strong one. This wax is very easy to work. At room temperature you may find it semi-hard but, no worry, all you need to do is scrape some with your thumb nail and work it between your thumb and forefinger for a few seconds. Your body heat is enough to make it completely workable. Alternatively, if you carry it in your pocket your body heat already has it at a perfectly workable temperature when you pull it out of your pocket.It's a good mustache wax but there is a tradeoff. It simply depends on your application and preference. If you thoroughly apply a liberal amount it will generally give you an adequate hold as long as it is undisturbed but you will probably find that you need to touch it up regularly. Heat and moisture cause it to lose its hold pretty quickly as well as contact with the area such as eating or drinking. The upside is that, since the wax is so soft, it is extremely easy to apply and reapply but if you're looking for an all day hold this isn't the wax for you.

My husband loved the scent of this product...just what he was looking for. Unfortunately, it's hard to work with so he doesn't use it. He hates the fact you gotta warm it up to even get it out and if not it gets kind of clumpy. He prefers the axe brand when it comes to this sort of product. He just wishes the axe stuff smelled like this product.

Product strength works amazing for handlebar mustaches!!!!. Just have to deal with odd pine, wax scent (Pinesol smell is not sexy.) Wife doesn’t like the smell either. I have added peppermint oils to help but that has to be done each time since you can’t mix a scent in the wax tin. Excellent on hold and not creating a flaky mess. I hope the company makes a scented style.

Now for mustache wax this stuff worked great. The smell was faint and didn't even bother me one bit. It easily keep it's shape and held my mustache for the day with just a little tweaking. It seemed dense and dry and a little tough to apply, but it did work great. I will buy this product again.

It's a mild pine tar smell and a deodorant consistency so gotta warm up a pinch between your finger and thumb then twirl in as though a nefarious rocky and bullwinkle villain whom has just laid a bound damsel on railroad tracks

Awesome wax, It is a firm hold for me but I have a pretty thin mustache.If you have a huge mustache you might get away with just using a lot more but i am not sure.Good sent, Kind of overwhelming just smelling the jar but it is very faint once you put it in your hair.Overall it is a really good pine sent.No need to really heat this wax up to get it out, its soft enough to scrape out with your fingernails.and as long as you warm it up between your fingers well enough there are no signs of it leaving flakes.
