Fantastic paper!
This paper can take water, I mean water! It feels thicker than it is, can take lifting and layering and a good amount of scrubbing before it begins to damage. I was practicing on multi media paper but you can’t, you need good or better paper to see how your brushes perform because if your paper is not doing what water color paper is supposed to do your whole experience is off and makes you think it is you when it has a lot to do with your supplies-you cannot mimic what you are watching other artists get if your supplies are not of the quality of that which you are watching/huge difference in your experience not because of your skill but because of your materials fighting you. This paper is super reasonable, I used both tablets to learn in, perfecting strokes, seeing what different brushes did and how pigments reacts differently on good vs crappy paper with heavy water loads, washes and wet in wet. This is good paper to learn on and good paper to continue on until you go to cotton or the like.Super happy and am buying another set of two to do flower studies to further drawing and painting skills. I figure by the end of these two I should feel confident enough to put money into more expensive paper if I feel the need but honestly this is wonderful, thick, on the smooth side (you won’t get the textured dry drag look) paper that does what you want good paper to do at a price that allows you to just doodle and feel free to express without feeling you are wasting “good” ie expensive paper.

Fantastic paper.
Been watercoloring for over 4 yrs and this paper is beautiful. Great texture and it behaves very well! I bought it for my sloppy copy practice pieces and love it. I don't agree with the dissatisfied customer's video about the paint sitting still. It looks to me that the paint used in the video is a high staining color that doesn't lift easily. I've had no problems with this paper and as long as they don't begin to cut corners and cheapen quality will definitely buy again.

High quality, heavy paper that makes it a complete joy to paint in a sketchbook!
While this may be a little too good for complete beginners, it is definitely the right choice for all watercolor artists. I use sketchbooks to do studies of things I am going to paint more complete paintings or portraits of later. I have only had these books a month and already have used 28 pages. I have not painted on the back of any of the pages yet because I was able to add so much water and color, I want to keep the paintings as they are--frameable I tried to load more examples but for some reason I keep getting error messages so I will stick with just one

*Sigh* its OK
I bought these bad boys because I needed new sketchbooks. You know how it goes, and old book of mine gets filled so i look for new one. And unfortunately my last one was a gift from a friend, and of course Amazon didn't have its own version.I opted for these babies because, like almost every artist I'm poor and needed a new medium. What I didn't realize was that despite the (very very good) page count im not used to thick water color paper. And so as I'm drawing, I'm not getting that seamless lovable flat brown paper rythem that I like to have. While im sure I can draw very well o it if I give it a try, I'm just kinda stuck because I have the two books and they make me veeeeeery uncomfortable for some reason. I'll of course keep them because I have water colors that I've never used, but I really wanted something different. I wish that art suppliers would start taking pictures of the book and its pages while open and giving us close up shots of the page to see its texture, because texture is important for visual people like myself who don't read the title for pretty books like this. Its a great book, really it is, and theres two! So like... If you like watercolors (or are able to use whatever instrument you like on any medium) buy this, its great. Oh and those rings, yeeeeeeeeeeessssssss it works so well because the pages are thick enough not to fall out of the beautifully looked rings.Update Nov.5,2021So I was skeptical at first of these....But I'm sold. After about a few months of owning them and finally getting through the first half and near the end of one. I have a new found reapect.I took the the time to recognize the quality of the book and its very good! Strudy! I like the back side of the pages because they're smoother but they most certainly hold water color very well, although they will grill if they're saturated with it. For the most part its definitely gotten me through to a new stage of my drawing so big thumbs up!!! 5 stars!!!
