Lasted 12K Miles.
Installed on a '78 Chevy c20 with a 350 engine. The truck is a duty truck, two LED pods and a full roof light bar (220W), LCD head unit (5-20W) and all other bulbs are LED so even less power draw on a normal day drive than typical. Red top AGM battery and 0 gauge grounding all around, not a single short.Though I bought this in late '18, this was barely used in the time I've had it. About 4-5K miles a year and on a reliable battery tender that's never caused damage to any vehicles it's been attached to.Went up in smoke driving around in the middle of the day. Regulators burned up. While it charged great, had plenty of airflow and performed without an issue with max draw for no more than an hour of its life - this shouldn't have happened. Out of warranty so it is what it is but I personally won't be buying another one. Also no shorts found afterwards and a heavy duty name brand replacement has been operating just fine. If I had to guess corrosion affected the balance board due to a lack of protective coating but it's in the landfill now.

Not Bad
Not Bad I guess. We'll see how chrome holds up and it only puts out 13.5 to 13.8

Not the same as OEM. Modifications needed
1st, the mounting hole that goes into the engine block is smaller. It won’t allow the bolt to pass through. Can not use a smaller bolt size because it is threaded to fit the block. I had to drill the hole out. 2nd) The fan on this alternator is larger than stock. Now this could be considered good but it hits on both of the mounting brackets when spun. I had to remove the mounting brackets and grind the down in order to get enough clearance. Had I known it was going to be this much alternating I would’ve bought the cheap OEM from a parts store.

Chrome alternator
Alternator going on my 1971 elcamino. Chrome job outstanding. Just what I was hoping for.

The alternator looks great installed and provides all the charging capacity I need. I ended up doing the voltage regulator conversion to run this alternator and it was worth it. My stock alternator just wasn’t cutting it with the added electric devices in my car and this solved the issue.
