It works just fine.
I bought this because my favorite summit rod didn’t come with one ($350 rod mind you) and they simply said they didn’t have any extras..... yeah that’s believable. Anyhow I think it’ll work out nicely for what it is. That being said as we know rubber dry rots and with something meant to be out in the weather I hope it last and doesn’t stretch I guess a fella could keep a bit of oil on it to extend its life. Now the part that you run your hook/lure etc to is plastic but seems to be sturdy it’d be neat if it was some type of metal but again for $3 it’ll do the job just fine and if I need another I’ll buy one.Update: Fished in the pouring rain last weekend unexpectedly and did notice the keepers rubber band would slip ever so slightly. I have a few more rods here without keepers so I’ll be ordering more soon enough.

Great line keeper
I use these as line keepers on my tenkara rods. The rubber bands that wrap around the rod are a little small, so there is some difficulty installing them.

Worth the purchase.
I hate having to pay for such a small item to fix a problem that I feel like I shouldnt have. However, this little guy is worth it. It fixes the frustration of either (1) not having a place to hook your hook, or (2) being forced to hook the hook on a stock hook-holder in an inconvenient place, such as this new fad of putting the hook stowaway notch on the handle portion. I dont know who thought of that or why its caught on, but I dont like it. Anyway, I digress. This thing is so low-profile I forget it's even there until I feel that tinge of frustration when I go to stow my hook, and then I remember this little guy and am relieved. I've bought 3 of them now. Life is too short for frustrations.

Yep this is what you were looking for
I use these on my high end JDM rods because they don’t have hook keepers. The line never touches it when casting or reeling line so don’t worry about it tangling the line. The only reason I rated this 4 stars is because I wish it looked a little bit of higher quality for the price, but it does the job.

Keeper keeps popping off!
Very small and low profile, but not durable. One of the wheels that the o-ring sits in came off under tension. I was able to pop it back on, but after a few uses, it kept popping off rendering it useless. Much time was wasted trying to fix it and wrapping it around rod. Good luck finding it when it pops off!

It’s simple and it works
I like how simple and easy these things are. For a couple of my rods where I don’t have a hook keeper and I don’t want to put the hook on the guides or the reel itself, these come in handy. The only reason this doesn’t deserve a 5-star rating is because the hook keeper doesn’t stay in place all the time.Nonetheless, I’d recommend this product to anybody who is looking for a hook keeper that’s easy to use and works as intended.

Decent solution
I got this for a KastKing seven foot spinning rod. I needed to use the larger of the two supplied bands to attach it (similar placement to the one customers picture). It is on tight and works fine. I wish the holder material was metal instead of plastic for durability. If this fails over time, I'll use a YouTube paper clip solution instead of getting another one of these. Nevertheless, a good one item purchase solution.

on the small side
This will fit only small to medium diameter rods. Would be nice to have this mentioned on the package/website.Pros:- designed better than all the others- seems well builtCons- small

Not suitable
The O-ring far too small to fix it on my Tenkara rod. Cheap and nasty
