Fun gift for a feminist beginning cross stitcher
Bottom line: This is a fun and cute gift for either a beginning cross-stitcher or someone more advanced who would enjoy doing a quicker project -- and in either case is a feminist because as you may note from the title, these are all feminist slogans.I'm going to let you know right up front that the designs in this kit are all fairly simple and quick. This is not meant for the more advanced cross stitcher. There are no half or quarter X's to make rounded edges, though you certainly could do that to give your work a little more style. The beginning of the book part gives beginners some information on how to cross stitch, how to read patterns and what kind of supplies they might need. It then goes into the 12 patterns which are:The Centennial Suffragette SignWe Can Do It! (with little Rosie the Riveters)Pussy Power (the pink hat with POWER)Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make HistoryGirls Just Wanna Have FUNdamental Human RightsRIP Gender Roles (with tombstones)Don't Tell Me to SmileNot Your BabeThe Future is FemaleSmash the PatriarchyI Dissent! (with RBG's iconic dissent collar)Resist!I felt like Nevertheless She Persisted would have been a good addition but otherwise it covers a wide range of current feminist slogans. The color numbers in the patterns are for DMC embroidery floss. The kit comes with a 6-inch embroidery hoop, a cross stitch needle, 2 pieces of cross-stitch fabric (looks like 14 count Aida), and 10 skeins of embroidery floss in colors to make the Don't Tell Me to Smile and We Can Do It patterns. But if you want to start with a different one, you can get the colors you need.I see that this also comes in Kindle but you wouldn't get the kit materials and I'm not sure I'd want to read a cross stitch pattern on my Fire tablet -- and you couldn't do this on a black & white e-reader or you wouldn't see the colors. So I recommend that you skip the Kindle version and get the kit.

Well done!
The Feminist Stitches kit is well put together. The kit includes, 2 pieces of aida, 10 skeins of floss, a size 26 embroidery needle and 12 designs. The floss is matched to 2 projects and you are on your own for the others, though colors (DMC, I am assuming) are specified and the patterns laid out. The manual has step by step instructions, thorough enough for those of us who went well out of our way to not learn to sew, or cross stitch for that matter ;) he only thing missing to my mind is the needle threader. (Well, some of us need it for sure) so if you do not have one, pick it up. It does make it easier. You can, in theory, complete these projects without a needle threader, if you are superhuman, and of course, some of you are.I would like to start on the piece honoring a woman I greatly admire, and, I am sure I am not the only one, so if you might want to do the lace collar, pick up a piece of dark aida too.I do not generally go for project kits, but in this case, the theme is a good one as are all of the illustrated and diagrammed pieces. She even provides instructions for turning it into a patch if you would prefer to wear or carry it, vs hanging it on your wall (or sitting it on the desk in your executive suite).

Love the patterns but...
I love the patterns and am actually finishing my second one. I just with you could remove the box part of the kit, because the book itself is very thin.

Good, easy to read instructions about stitching
This book helps young and older people learn how to stitch, an age-old activity. It contains all the material that one needs to do the stitching. Users of the book will learn the basics or be reminded what they used to do. It is a fun activity and the works produced can be used to decorate the home. The instructions are easy to follow.

Love this book
This book teaches how to make the basic cross-stitch x and has 12 awesome patterns. I love how it shows the patterns on wearable and usable products like jean jacket, pillow, canvas bag, etc. I really love how the pattern explains its symbolism. I cannot wait to share the book with my niece so we can stitch some inspiring work together!I love how this book had me LOL at its awesomeness. I can already think of whom I want to make which pattern for!Things I was disappointed in:I was hoping there would be a pattern for the saying: Feminism is for everyone.I was hoping there would be enough skeins to do more than just two patterns.

Okay kit for white feminists beginners
I've done stamped cross stitch kits but never a worded design like this. I like the instructions and explanations. Seems simple and thorough enough for everyone to get it done. Would be nice to have further reading and resources. But the biggest thing that bugs me, I wish it was obvious that there's only two specific designs that can be made with this kit as pictured. You can't just pick the two designs you want to make.Love the kit design and layout. The storage as the back of the book is great.White feminist sayings. One design is about 100 years of women voting. But that's ONLY white women. Terrible ignorant erasure. If I'd known, I wouldn't have gotten it.

Fantastic Feminist Cross Stitch Kit
It was like Amazon just knew I would love this, and suggested it one day. Weird. I'm both a feminist AND someone who has a love for crafts. I'm a knitter by skill, but I thought this would be a fun project to take on, maybe during the upcoming holidays. You know, something else to do other than coloring books, reading, and puzzles. The Feminist Stitches kit includes a 6" embroidery hoop, 10 small starter skeins of colorful floss, 2 pieces of embroidery fabric, a cross-stitch needle, and a book loaded with various easy-to-do feminist-themed cross stitch patterns. The booklet explains how to get started and walks you through how to use the patterns.I love the presentation of everything bound together in a hardcover case.

Struggle for beginner, fun patterns
Pros: good value for the supplies and fun patterns to get you started.Cons: not very good instructions for absolute beginners. I had to learn the hard way of trial and error. Doesn't include all the colours needed for all patterns.Good kit to help with quarantine boredom!

Great stuff
Very easy patterns perfect for begginers. And the starter pack to make a couple of patterns is super useful, as my proper cross stitch kit is still on its way.

Poor quality
Cheap and not good quality. I broke the needle in just 10 minutes .Also no real instructions for a beginner. Just pictures of designs. Also missing colours for the designs in the book.
