5 stars for this rockstar love story
Sweet Ache is part of the Driven Series, but you don't need to read the previous books before starting Quinlan and Hawkin's story. I'm always a fan of reading all books in a series, even when later installments might be classified as stand alones within the same world. We do see scenes with Quinlan's brother, Colton-aka the star of the initial Driven series, but you don't need to know his background to enjoy their sibling bond.Hawke and Quin have undeniable chemistry that shocks both of them. Luckily this story's presented in first person-dual POV, letting us see inside rocker boy Hawke's head while he tries to get the girl that knocks him down a few pegs, as well as getting a front row seat in Q's thoughts as she rises to the challenge and shows up this lead singer. Five stars for steaminess and frequency, even if some scenes weren't played out in full. Another five stars for the story and layout: good build up, plenty of sexual tension, a good dose of conflict, and our resolution that leads to the HEA. Very enjoyable.

Absolutely love this series.
Couldn’t wait to read about Quinlan’s story. I have to say that I love the name though I’ve never heard it before. This story is nothing short of fabulous as this whole series has been. I look forward to any down time that I have to read as much as possible. This book will make you laugh, smile and cry. I just can’t say enough good things about it.I was curious about Hawkin. I mean did I really want to read about another rock God and the many notches on his bedpost? Well, boy am I glad that I read on! Hawkin is in a class all his own. My heart broke for him when I read his story. Absolutely broke. And altsheimers or not, why would he continuously put himself through that horror show? He’s way more man than his family deserves. But he did deserve Quinlan’s. So happy that they found each other. Just a great story!I’ve set out to read all of K Bromberg’s books. Fabulous author. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I’ve yet to read a book by her that I didn’t like or was even so so. They have all been wonderful works that I’ll read over and over again. I highly highly recommend her.On to the next one!!

Holy Hawkins!
K. Bromberg's series has been one incredible book after another! After Colton came Beckett, and now Hawkin - I am dying to read Tanner next!In the meantime, Hawkin and Q - in the original trilogy, Q was a feisty one so I already knew that I was going to love her because she was/is a "say what's on her mind and don't take anything from anyone without dishing it back" girl. The story was incredible and written in perfect Bromberg style. I love the way the author's writing flow tells her stories. - I adore the way her words connect with the reader (me!), in all her books she keeps you captivated and making you crave the turn of the next page. This story wasn't just about a "rocker and groupies with jealousy, etc." This story was very deep and emotional with a storyline that pulls at your heartstrings. At one point there was so much beauty that I had crocodile tears of happiness because it snuck it's way into my heart.Definitely a "MUST READ" as it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to anyone whose read this author. She is an outstanding writer.

Internal monologue alert
I like this story overall. But it could have been about 5 chapters shorter. A little wordy... Okay a lot wordy, but i know this was one of her first books. I’m sure she’s better now.As far as the story, I was a little disappointed there wasn’t more conflict between Hawk and Luke. I thought there might be some crazy triangle aspect but that died really quick.I don’t hate Hawk but I’m not swooning either. Quinlin was a pretty good character, a little naive at times but thankfully, she didn’t annoy me. Stronger than most women in romance, so she made it a plus for me.Quick beach read if you like that star/regular girl story.

Sweet Ache was one of my most highly anticipated books of 2015. I have purposefully stayed away from teasers and excerpts because I wanted the full experience when I got to read it in full. I went in only knowing that it was about Quin, Coltan's sister, and a rockstar named Hawkin. What I did not expect was the emotions that would get pulled out of me, wait no, that's a lie. It's a Bromberg book, I knew deep down the emotions she'd pull out of me I just wasn't sure which ones. I felt happy, scared, confused, worried, hot, and many other things under the sun.Throughout the entire series I was biting my nails anticipating what would happen next. Wanting to read ahead, but stopping myself because I didn't want to ruin it. I found myself wanting to read as fast as possible to get to the end, but slowing down because I never wanted it to end.Kristy, please don't ever stop writing. You are on my "one-click no matter what" list and will always stay that way. Everything you write is beautifully erotic and I love it!Bravo! 6 starts for Sweet Ache!

Another great addition to the Driven series, emotional and hard hitting but a great read
Sweet Ache (Driven #6) by Kristy Bromberg4 stars!!“I’ve been fighting my whole life, maybe I don’t have any fight left.”This is a standalone spin-off from the Driven series but some of our favourites do make an appearance. Even though Colton does not appear very often our man certainly makes up for it when he does. This story centres on Quinlan, Colton’s sister and Hawkin Play, the lead singer of the band Bent. So, just to whet your appetites, we have hot racing drivers and hot rockers all rolled into one book so there is definitely something for everyone. We have already met Quinlan throughout the Driven series and she was always a character that we didn’t really know that much about. Quinlan was busy at college finishing her degree and she was determined that she was going to do well. While her work load was heavy she still found time to be a TA and relished the extra challenges that she was taking on. She was that kind of person, good on the inside and out, extremely helpful and loyal, but she had sass and she was one feisty girl.“Lips like an angel, body made for sin, and feisty enough to rival the devils fire?”Hawkin Play was our very own rocker with his own 747 full of baggage. He had the world on his shoulders and was struggling for breath at times. Being the oldest he felt he had responsibilities, especially after making promises that he was far too young to understand or keep, but he was a man of his word. Living up to the reputation of a rocker he liked his women and had never let one get close and he didn’t do repeat performances. But underneath that façade was a beautiful man that had a heart of gold, it just needed to be let out.“One person can take on only so much responsibility without buckling from its weight.”I absolutely loved the slow build between these two, the witty banter back and forth had me in hysterics many times and Quinlan certainly gave as good as she got. Hawkin had finally met someone who didn’t care who he was or what he was. Quinlan didn’t treat him any differently and wasn’t there for the super star status, she had grown up with it and she was definitely far from star struck.“You think you have me pegged, don’t you? I assure you, square or round, I don’t fit in any predetermined hole.”Without a doubt the intense sizzle and chemistry that these two shared radiated off the pages. You knew that this hate/love relationship was going to be intense once they both realised what was happening. Kristy captured this pull and pull brilliantly and you were on the edge of your seat wildly anticipating that first kiss, that first touch, that first everything. We all know that Kristy can write a mean sex scene and this book is no different, Kristy Bromberg had me blushing!! These two certainly made music together…in more ways than one and let me just add I will never look at a guitar pick the same again.Quinlan and Hawkin were perfect together, Quinlan understood Hawkin on such a deep level. She knew what he needed and when. So much had happened to Hawkin in his past and it was beautiful to watch him slowly open up. This was not something he did lightly so with every burden that he unloaded onto Quinlan it was like a giant leap in the progress of their relationship. As this relationship thing is new to him, you knew he was going to make his mistakes and he does, but we all love a bit on angst and this book was perfectly balanced with regards to that. Nothing over the top, just a voyage of discovery the two of them needed to take.“C’mon, you know you want to be the start to my burst.”“More like the fruit to your loop.”As with any Kristy Bromberg book there are a plethora of quotes in this book that resonated deep. Kristy always manages to capture your heart and soul with her characters and this book is no different and some of the paragraphs that I had highlighted had literally reduced me to tears. Kristy always manages to captivate me with her words and knowing exactly what had happened in Hawkin’s past only made her words cut that much deeper.“When he begins to speak, the students hang on his every word. But it’s the words he’s left unspoken that captivate me the most.”You cannot help but be moved by Hawkin’s back story, this story does cover some tough subjects but as usual they are covered delicately and sympathetically. Hawkin has a lot of demons that he needs to face and conquer and his self-doubt at his propensity to love and be loved was heart shattering at times. I have to say his twin, Hunter, was constantly on my s*** list. Apart from Tawny, I have never disliked a Kristy Bromberg character, but my hatred for him has gone to a totally new level.“Every man has his breaking point, and his absolute silence makes me fear that he just reached his.”While I felt the pace at the start was a bit slow, this book certainly kicked into gear and you will be totally captivated by Quinlan and Hawkin’s story. We have cameo appearances from some much loved bands that we have read about and that only enhanced how close this book world has become now. Once again Kristy has delivered a book that will leave its indelible mark on my heart. Quinlan and Hawkin will have you eating out of their hands and we have now been given another couple that are a great addition to this Driven family.“Love is nothing more than a meaningless word in a lyric until someone comes along and makes the music to bring it to life...and sweetness, you’re helping me make the music for it, one instrument at a time.”

This author knows how to write a fantastic story all her books are 5 STAR+ LOVED THIS BOOK
I absoutely loved this book and i cant give k. bromberg enough praise for her fantastic writing. The Driven series is definetly one of my all time favourite books I was so moved by the story so I have read every bookfrom this author since and i always get lost in the story lines and love to get to know the characters.Sweet ache was no different than any of the others beautifully written with feeling and so much emotion. Both main characters were lovely and it was just such a pleasure to read from beginning to end.I always say a good book is one that you cant put down and life has to be put on hold while you get through thosechapters. I finished reading Julie Kenners latest book then sweet ache came through the door. i love J kenner also sohad to finish that but i have about 100 or more books i have ordered from amazon on my book shelf and not read yet andi did not even think about looking at them because when this book came i knew it was going to be a cracker and i was notwrong. Lots of twists along the way with drama and fighting but a great mix of love, sex and a story line that kept you wanting to readanother chapter. i have had 3 very late nights till 2 am because i just wanted to read more and more and more.if you like julie kenner or Jamie Mcguire then read the driven series from start to finish it is amazing a book you will always remeber.i HAVE ORDERED hARD BEAT BY K Bromsberg and i bet that will be another terrific story. I cant wait.

Where to begin... I am a huge fan of rocker stories and I adore the Crashed series to this was always going to be a winner for me. I do have to say that I will never look at a guitar pick in quite the same way again though!!I absolutely adore Quin- she is more like her brother, Colton than she cares to admit. She is vibrant, witty, and so fiesty! She is a match for most men and that's no different with egotistical rocker Hawkin. This is a girl who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go out and get it. When you add Hawkin and the other members of Play to the mix all of the things I loved about her heightened tenfold! There is no shortage of man candy either with the band, guest appearances from other well know book bands *swoon* and the occasional appearance from Colton himself! Ladies this is definitely a book you need to sink your claws into and you will not be disappointed.Kristy has done an epic job writing Sweet Ache and even though it has the subtle vibe from the Crashed series this book also has the balls to hold its own. I was, as ever with Kristy's writing, entranced by the story and was able to lose myself very easily within its pages, even slowing down at the end so I didn't have to finish! This for me was a story that had it all and throughout I laughed out loud, got angry, cried and wanted to launch my kindle across the room with pent up emotion. It also had the ability to make me, the reader, lose myself in that emotion and really feel what Kristy's characters were feeling. This really was an amazing read and I envy you all that get to experience it for the first time, with that said its a book I will be picking up again and again.

Another Winner
I have liked Quinlan, Colton's sister, from the first time we met her at the race track. Therefore, I am thrilled that I got to know her better in this book. She rocks as a person. She is just a great character- strong, funny, witty, independent, smart. It is really hard not to like her. Hawken is equally as likeable in that loveable rogue way. His character was so much more developed then hers. And the dynamics and banter between the two of them made this novel. The one thing that I think could have been improved is the plot. I am not sure how much time passes in the novel, but besides from keeping a jealous sibling at bay, nothing else really happens besides these two talking and getting to know one another and sex. I just wish that there had been a bit (a lot actually) more depth to the storyline. If you enjoyed Driven, you will enjoy this one. No one will ever match Rylee and Colton, but it's still a decent read.
