DO NOT BUY
UPDATE: 9/11/19. DO NOT buy this doorbell. The app and service just isn't worth it. They have a great product but what's it worth if the service behind it is trash?! Would return if could BASED SOLEY on the app and service. 5 star doorbell, -5 star usability. This is a great doorbell. Video is clear, slim, and great picture. The app is terrible but the camera is great.

One of my best purchases!
Wow! This product exceeded my expectations. It’s syncs so well with the app, great picture, great look, great interface. It does take about 2-3 seconds to pull up the video which isn’t a big deal to me. The notifications do come but it’s not instant (I’m still playing around with it). It detects movement and people instantly though and records a minute long clip. I’m so glad I got this instead of a ring or other camera. This product is 5 stars all day long!

Good addition to the Scout Alarm System
A nice addition to the Scout alarm system. I like the features; fish-eye lens, person detect, alert to phone, etc. I've had it disconnect a few times, but then reconnect without hesitation. It enhances the rest of the alarm system. In the end, it is a doorbell.

Does not work with Alexa.
A good cost effective video doorbell, works as it should with out all the problems Ring has, only down side is it is not yet compatible with Alexa. It was originally advertised as compatible.

Good but could be better
To start off with, I have Scout's alarm system and am very happy with it. So when they came out with the doorbell at such a relatively low price (compared to their competitors), I was happy and bought it.Installing it was simple (I have a mechanical chime). I ended up buying a new 16v transformer as mine was old and all is working. Here are the pros and cons:Pros:1) Price: As mentioned, cheap compared to the competitors2) All within the same app for me3) Since I pay for monitoring, video recording and storage is free...again, for meCons: (this is where I am not happy)1) Person Detection: I was very happy to learn that they had person detection and reviews from so called expert sites said it was accurate...Not So!! My person detection is constantly going off when cars drive by at 20-odd mph - no one looks like a car and most people do not walk/run that fast!2) There is enough lag between getting the notification tha someone rang the doorbell and getting to see who is at the door. There are enough seconds of a delay that by the time the live video has come up, the person has left (not always but enough times that it is a problem). My WIFI is fine. I have a new Netgear N7000 with one antenna pointing towards the doorbell. I'm constantly getting 60-70 mbps download speed.3) On my T-Mobile service in the city of Boston, where I am getting 25-30 mbps, I cannot access recorded videos...I constantly get the "loading 3 dots symbol".NOTE: I have been working closely with Scout customer service and have to say, they have been very accommodating. After sending them videos of the problems with person detection, they extended by return period by an additional 30 days and sent an update to the doorbell. There are still issues and so while they work through those, they have again extended my return period. I really do appreciate their customer focus and that really is the only thing right now stopping me from returning it and buying the Nest Hello.I will provide an update as I get more information and updates from them.
