Tamiya Models German 88mm Gun Flak 36.37 Model Kit

Hilt this the first time as a teenager. I’m more patient now (50 years later) and have better tools. Good parts fit and makes an excellent piece. I have a nice Tamiya half track to go with it I will build soon. Great kit of an unusual subject.

This is my favorite model - period. It has great detail and is at a reasonable price. Tamiya has been around for years and is really the benchmark to which other plastic models are compared. I made an 88mm Flak Gun when I was a teenager in the 70's and it was awesome. I am now getting back into modeling after being away many years and can't wait to do another one of these. However, it is a bit more challenging than some of the other armor Tamiya models, so I would not try this one until I built up my proficiency (it has many very small detailed parts), but it is definitely worth working up to as a goal. In other words, this should not be the first model you try to build. It works wonderfully as a stand alone piece in a diorama or can be combined in armor battle scenes or with aircraft as this gun was often used as a anti-aircraft gun as well.

Another great tamiya kit. Fits are good. Love the extras like the motorcycle and men. Pick this one up you won’t be disappointed.

This was a fun build. I do free hand with large spray paint cans before I put together. Loved the winter camo look I did.

The model is packaged well, with ample amounts of shoulder room in the box. Crisp exterior details, and we'll engineered placement of connection points make for minimal sanding and filling. The base gray makes for ready pre-shading and painting and/or priming.Dioarama ready!
