Since I recently started painting with acrylic innks I wanted a new set of brushes as my typical makeup brushes are not finely pointed enough for careful application of the very pigmented inks.THESE ARE HIGHER QUALITY THAN THEIR PRICE SUGGESTS.I have used all five brushes (#3, #1, #2/0, #3/0 and #5/0) and every one of them holds their point very well.For the cost of one GW synthetic brush you get five that are comfortable, useful and well made.

I really doubt that this is real Kolinsky sable. Sure, I may have though the guy was selling real Rolexes from the trunk of his car. And yes, I believed the auction for a genuine Hermes bag for $100. But Kolinsky brushes for this price? Not even I'm that gullible. I will say, they do seem like natural hairs (human or fine Big Foot, I'll m not sure) and they actually work decently. They won't last that long but they are a bit better than what you would expect for the price. Hence, I would recommend them and buy them again. Hopefully, they last as long as my new Tag Hooer watch.

It’s true, the quality of your work is only as good as the quality of your brushes. Very ergonomic, fits nicely in the hand can make really fine lines easily.

DO NOT BUY THESE BRUSHES!I'm all for getting a deal on stuff but I've been noticing that brushes are a "you get what you pay for" product. These brushes are not natural sable as advertised and honestly, I've bought better synthetic brushes a hundred times over.The brushes came in a non-descript package with no protective packaging other than the plastic brush cover with no care instructions or any other materials. Every brush had stray "hairs" from the get-go and the two larger brushes didn't even have properly formed points.I've tried using them with straight acrylic, thinned acrylic and washes it's apparent the visual quality is representative of the working characteristics. They hold minimal amounts of paint, fray incredibly quickly and after hours of attempting to get them to form a consistent point and preform appropriately ended up needing to be trimmed and heat treated to get a minimally acceptable point to hold.As I said above, the larger brushes had poorly formed points and immediately frayed, making them basically unusable and the smaller brushes had no consistent "hair" length causing horrendous streaking, inconsistent paint deposition and poor point forming.

Not sure these are any different from generic brushes regarding holding shape or point. The box they come in has no indication at all that they are actually sable so who knows.Edit: Seller offered me a refund based on this review. Made no effort to refute that these are not natural sable, although the description does not state synthetic or natural sable so perhaps the mistake was mine. Future buyer take note, most likely still synthetic

I'm a very new acrylic painter and needed some detail brushes. I didn't have any idea which ones to choose online. I only wanted the basics and these are great! I've used them several times and just received them a few weeks ago. In this set of 5 the 4-0 and 5-0 have become my favorite brushes. I would highly recommend them, especially for beginning artists.

A really nice brush set for miniature and model painting. I love these brushes and the bloomed handle make it much easier to control the brush and is comfortable for long periods.

They hold a lot of water and the paint pick up is reasonable for the price

I bought these as my "cheap" brushes while I learn to paint again and also for my young child to use without me minding. In fact I’ve not even got the expensive ones out yet as this set is such good quality. The triangle grip is a nice touch and aids manoeuvrability. I’m no brush expert but these make a nice fine tip, hold the paint well and can be washed and looked after. The brush I’ve used the most has started to fray just a tiny bit but not a problem at this stage and I have 12 others to use yet. If and when I have to I would definitely buy this set again for everyday brushing, leaving my nicer set maybe for special occasions. Ironically to look after these I may need to get a bag or case (you can hardly expect one thrown in at this price).
