Analogies Always Seem To Get Me In Trouble
These things look really cool, don’t you think? Most cyclists, moi included, like looking sharp on their rides. That means wearing the fashionable cycling gear of their favorite team, or donning the latest flyweight GoreTex rain jacket. Why then, you might ask, am I only giving these ultra cool rain booties 3 stars?I can tell you that they do a near perfect job of keeping my feet 100% dry in even drenching downpours. I know, I’ve been there. The thing of it is, you see, putting on these rubber beauties is sort of like... well...sort of like putting on a condom that’s too tight, and we all know where that can lead: breakage! These are excruciatingly difficult to get on, but for the gentle handed, patient cyclists among us, they really are effective.I have and use, more often, a pair of zip up PUC booties that I bought from China on a shopping portal that will remain unnamed here on Amazon. But I really do love these Velotoze booties, and still wear them on those wet occasions when only red feet will do. But, then again, I know when to pull out.

Much easier to put on than we think
This thing is awesome!I don't know about water protection, this is not why I use it. I use it for aero / time trial purposes. It's actually fairly easy to wear. Here's the trick:1. Wear it like a sock on the top of your socks2. Grab the end (toes) and make it slide all the way to your ankles (your toes and whole foot passing through the front opening)3. Wear your shoe4. Slide the Velotoze back but over the shoe this time. There is a good video on Youtube showing all that. Also, the small opening of the heel is not for you to use, it's only there so you don't walk on the latex and make a hole... The only hole you pas through is the one with the borders reinforced, the larger one in the front.EDIT: I remove a star because it lasted 2 rides. This thing is a subscription... It should be sold by packs of 3 at 30 bucks.

Not easy to get on as you see in the video ...
These are what I expected. Not easy to get on as you see in the video velotoze has. Looks incredibly easy on the video but these seem to be my size and it's difficult getting them on my low-profile shimano road shoes. They got holes on one ride behind the cleat where there is friction with the pedal. I bought these to save me in torrential rain as I'm a commuter who doesn't want to not ride just because of the weather, so they're an emergency item in my backpack. Great idea and I'm glad it exists as they'll def keep you dry in any condition. I imagine they could make them with much thicker latex where there is contact with the pedal. I am buying a latex repair kit to try and extend the life of these before they are irrepairable. I haven't seen any issues with durability for the top part.

Tear easily, very tight to get on Just finished a ...
Pros: Totally water-tight as sold, keep your feet dry and warm at 45-65 degrees with hard rain, cost-effective, snug fit, no surfaces or seams to cause irritation from rubbingCons: Tear easily, very tight to get onJust finished a 500+ mile ride using these for about 60-70% of the time. It rained on 5 of the 7 days we were out, sometimes harder than most cyclists will tolerate (3-5"/hour). These kept my feet completely dry and warm for the first three uses. While removing them after the first 15 miles, one of them ripped a little on the bottom, but it still kept me totally dry. I was able to dry them out and re-use them a few times, but if the latex is folded at the top of the cover when they dry, beads of water will make it to your shoes. Also, there's nothing you can do about water spraying up from underneath and making it through your cleats. At the end of the week, I cut them off with my knife, knowing I had gotten more than my money's worth. Solid product, would buy again.

horrible. rips instantly, either when putting on, or when walking. not warm at all
It's impossibly thin silicone, of course it's fragile as heck. Look, if you're a professional racer, and you need absolute aerodynamics and you have someone helping you get dressed, they're probably fine. But for everyday riders, heading out on a ride, or even just a commute, in the wind and rain and cold of late fall, winter, early spring - these things are going to FALL APART in a week or two. Just do yourself a favor and get the cheap chinese neoprene ones for the same price. Those are infinitely more durable, they'll keep you much warmer, and they're SO MUCH EASIER to take on an off quickly.

Terrific looking super fragile
What i live about them is that they look really sleek and the pop of color helps to be visible on the road. Looks great. They looks so great in fact that i got lots of compliments when wearing. However, they do not seem to last. I wore it once and holes near the top of my shoe already appeared. Don’t think they will survive the season. Also my feet where still wet. But that might have been me placing the sick incorrectly. Everyone else who wore them seemed to be happy with the water repellent.

Would not recommend
These are made of a tight rubber material, and are very difficult to put on and take off. I’ve learned to roll them on and off, but the process is still very trying. They also tear very easily, and will likely only last for a small amount of rides. Once on, they do help keep my feet warm, and they are cheaper than the zip up foot warmers. However, the struggle to wear them is not worth the difference in costs.

Velo "NO"
They worked well keeping my feet dry and warm on the first leg of my 20 mile commute. They ripped immediately upon attempting to carefully take them off. If these were advertised as a "temporary shoe cover good for one use," I would give them 5 stars. If you want more than one use out of these, don't buy them. Buy something more durable (I would rate these 0.5 stars as advertised).

Thicker rubber needed.
OK... good and waterproof until they break which usually only takes about 10 rides. This makes this a very expensive product. We've had 2 pairs and both broke after normal use. The problem is that they are so tight and inflexible that it's difficult to get them to fit over cycling shoes with all the clips / velcro.Shame, because they are a genius idea.... need thicker rubber.

Pluses and minuses + -
Does the job - waterproof and warm - allow time to get the buggers on though. Recommend the MTB version over the road version as a bit thicker so less likely to tear . Road version seem too thin .

Split far too easily!
Keeps the water out perfectly UNTIL they split open. Followed the instructions to put on and take off, which isn’t easy, but they still spilt on only third use!Update:Tried to return vi Amazon, but was over 30 day returns as it had only rained a couple of times since purchase. Contacted Velotoze in USA and they sent me a new pair of their updated and reinforced version, free of charge. Not had chance to use the new and improved pair yet, but advice from Velotoze is excellent.

Ripped on the first wear
Used these once, got back from my cycle to discover they have ripped. I think if you want something waterproof (and warm) get some proper over shoes. If you want something aero there must be something made of a better material than this. They're also quite long and hard getting on.Won't be buying again and very annoyed I've essentially thrown 20 quid in the bin

... cyclist and I have to say this is the worst product I have ever bought
really awful product - very difficult to get on - not practical - seasoned cyclist and I have to say this is the worst product I have ever bought.I also tried to return it but they refused as they said I had opened the packaging and tried it on but isn't that the same as trying any piece of clothing on that doesn't fit - you should be able to return it. Would definitely not recommend product or the seller as the service is dreadful!
