Victorian Alphabets, Monograms and Names for Needleworkers: from Godey's Lady's Book (Dover Embroidery, Needlepoint)

It just isn't that good. A huge chunk of the book has letters 2 per page and they would not have been my first choice to make that big. There are some nice alphabets but none I would use. I find the names section the best as it shows a name with a frame or more detailed flourishes.

Nowi have beautiful monograms!

I have many initials books and every time I find a new style in a book, it feed may imagination. This one has a few styles I had not seen so I like it.

This book has a great range of alphabet lettters, but unfortunately many are small and did not enlarge very well for my purpose, which was embroidery. It was published in 1974, so the transfer instructions are very out of date - there are much better methods now. I'm sure there would be more modern books which are better for embroidery monograms.

Too big letters and it seams like bad copies!!!

Had one of this book when I was little but it was damaged glad to have a new one now i can start embroidery again.

Interesting book with nice designs but some are simply too fussy

Brief introduction, followed by images of Victorian lettering. You will need to know how to hand stitch if looking to use the designs, as this is just that a reference book of Victorian designs. I like it as the images are clear enough to apply to real life work.

こんな本が欲しかったの～！と届いて開いた途端思いました。本のタイトルにあるとおり、アルファベットの図案がたくさん載っています。デザインの種類も多いし、アルファベットがほとんど全てで載っているのが私にはうれしかったです。白黒の図案で、刺し方など詳しいことは書いていないので、初心者には向かないかもしれませんが（私も初心者）一冊持っていれば、名前、イニシャルなどの刺繍をしたいと思った時、ステキな作品を作ることが出来ると思います。
