Bailey's Story: A Puppy Tale

I buy these for my 7 year old and she loves to read them! The stories are fun and engaging.

This book deserves 5/5 stars because it has everything that you need in a book, action, realistic fiction, humor, and a little emotion. It is easy to love this sweet and funny main character, Bailey the yellow Labrador dog. Its great to see dogs perspectives towards humans.In this book, Bailey's story by W. Bruce Cameron, there is a dog with a crazy imagination and lovable character, Bailey. Bailey was rescued by Ethan's mom and becomes Ethan's loyal, and loving companion. In this book they have crazy adventures, at one time they even get lost in the woods. There is also a character named Todd, who was Ethan’s friend at first then he does a unforgettable thing that changes Ethan’s life. No matter what challenge Ethan goes through Bailey is there to help and protect him.In this part of the text Bailey is helping “His boy” by jumping in the water after him when he falls in, “I lunged, jaws open, and seized the hood of his sweatshirt in my mouth. Lifting my head, dragging him with me, I swam hard for the sunlit surface of the pond. We burst up into the air. ‘Bailey!’ the boy shouted, laughing. ‘Are you trying to save me, boy?” That was on page 85 and showed me how much that Bailey cares about Ethan.In conclusion I think that the book Bailey’s story by W. Bruce Cameron is an outstanding book that I would recommend to dog lovers everywhere and would easily give it 5 stars out of 5 stars.

W. Bruce Cameron has done it again with his latest release of Bailey's Story. He has an uncanny ability to write from the dog's point of view resulting in capturing my attention from the very first line all the way to the end. While reading this book, I felt I could really relate to all the joy and, at times, confusion that a dog certainly must experience while growing up. Bailey's realization that Ethan was his boy and his purpose was to love and protect him seems to perfectly describe the wonderful relationships that do result between a boy and his dog. While written for middle-school aged readers, I felt that Mr. Cameron made it a delightful read for both the young and young-at-heart!

After I finished reading A Dog's Purpose, my 8 year old daughter begged me to let her read it too, but I was worried some parts might be too upsetting for her. Therefore, I was so excited when I found this book! It is the exact same story as when the dog is Bailey in the regular novel, however it has been adapted to be appropriate for young readers. It's perfect for my daughter and she is LOVING it, which is a very pleasant surprise because getting her to read has always been a struggle. I will definitely be buying all of the other A Dog's Purpose adaptation novels in the very near future!

This book is good. But if you want to read it you can't be super sensitive because this story is a bit sad. Even though this book is sad, it is very good. It has lots of adventures and it is unpredictable. If you are a dog lover, you will like this book.-4th Grade Student perspective

Bailey's Story should be read by everyone who loves animals. And those who don't. Cameron's book is nothing short of genius They are loving companions to the elderly by giving them a distraction and not thinking about what they could have done differently in their lives, which is so common. Such a beautiful diversion. Another life to make richer. Dogs give children the gifts of compassion, responsibility and loyalty. Given the perfect circumstances, a child must help his family take part in giving the dog a loving, consistent home. Cameron, who shared Bailey's lives, illustrated how the differences of the masters reflect the character of the dog. I have always said people should model the love and beautiful unconditional love of a dog. They want, and give, the most insight into what is pure and good. I seriously believe their qualities could change the world in this frightening and uneasy times. Watch your pet. Watch how his eyes sparkle and their tails wag simply by hearing your step. Such love exists so rarely.

My 9year old son loves dogs and has been enjoying reading this series.
