A super laptop, would buy another if I could.
I bought this as a birthday present for my 90 year old wife's birthday to replace an earlier model. It is a really great piece of kit with a wonderfully clear 17 inch screen. It's a bit weighty and because it is complete , a little larger than some but having the extra number pad and the DVD disc drive and a 1TB hard disc it wonderful value for money. It was an update from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 but within a couple of weeks we had both mastered it.I ordered one for myself but it never arrived and now Amazon are out of stock. It's on my wish list.

Criminally poor. It’s agonisingly slow, I use my kindle/ipad instead.
Bought this as the laptop I wanted from Argos was sold out So this was the best alternative apparently. Agonisingly slow, bought it to replace an ancient Toshiba and performs about as well. Big size, nice screen, took ages to set up. Charged battery Initially for a full 24 hours and it lasted 2 hours max. Takes the best part of a minute to open a photo, can’t even navigate social media in a reasonable time. My old Kindle performs quicker, I find myself searching the Net on my phone or kindle for speed. I hope it just needs a bit of running In otherwise It’s a waste of good money. Really not sure, had a HP before which was garbage but the Recent reviews suggested they’ve turned things around, we’ll see.*Update 2023, I’ve hardly used this since purchased, you can’t do anything on it, I fired it up, it took 3 hours to open an email, absolutely criminal, stay away

Great Laptop
This new laptop was delivered 2 days ago & so far I am delighted with its. Great screen & speed of response is good. Only one comment to note. The Amazon spec states that there is 1 USB port. There are in fact 3 ports. The other thing to note is if you are new to Windows 10 it may be worth buying an Idiots Guide book because it isn't immediately obvious how to drive the machine if you are coming from Windows 7.All in all I am very pleased with this purchase so far.

Nice screen and good sound, very slow to start with, improved later
When new it was so slow it was almost unusable. I removed all the bloatware, adjusted the settings, set the performance to "best for running programs", removed all unwanted apps and although it did speed up a bit, sometimes it slowed, sometimes to a complete stop - even when not updating, CPU at 100%, Memory 80% or higher, but, after a couple of months I'm happy to say it seems to be running much better. It has very good sound for a laptop and a nice screen, it can stream video ok and play music but will need extra RAM for anything demanding. Careful when you pick it up as - the underneath is very bendy and if you are not careful the case can push against the insides when lifting it. The touchpad buttons are very clunky and hard to press, you couldn't play games on it without your fingers aching - this apparently is the same on all of this range of HP laptops

very slow
I bought it because of the Intel® Pentium® Gold Processor Series thinking that it would be fast, but it’s incredibly slow, in fact, I’m about to complain about it, the trouble is am not sure if I am meant to complain to Amazon or HP, as I have always bought my laptops at PC World.I have two other HP laptops, and they are fine.Everything else seems fine, but because it’s so slow I am forced to use my other laptops

Slow and unstable : Not recommended !!
I've had this computer for a little over 3 months now and it continues to disappoint. It is often slow to load pages and freezes about once a day on average. Working with images is both slow and tedious; individual images take ages to load - much longer than my last (windows 8 ) Toshiba laptop. I mainly use mine for creating PDF documents and it's just about adequate. I wouldn't recommend this laptop for anything other than "light" work. On the positive side the 17" screen is very good. Other than that it's hard to recommend a laptop that leaves me with the feeling that it's inherently unstable ! Wouldn't buy again.

HP Laptop
I am delighted with my new laptop. It is just what I wanted. My old one was very slow and unreliable so this new one is a treat to use. It is quick and easy to use and has a lovely big screen with very clear images.

This laptop is rubbish
Since buying this laptop in June it has caused nothing but problems turns the internet off- everything in the house is still able to use the internet but this turns it off mid job, makes the printer go offline, slow than a snail the Desktop that I replaced it for works much quicker than this and it's 6 years old! Worst possible buy you can ever make, given 1 star as this is no option to give minus KEEP your money and look for a laptop that works as it should not this piece of utterly not fit for its purpose junk
