Nice Shield.
I am building an Arduino UNO based Timekeeping module (Clock + Alarm + Stop Watch etc.). I am using the keypad for Menu navigation to select operating modes, and for setting alarm times, and synchronizing the RTC to a standard time reference. I am currently concerned about the longevity of the device, having read some disturbing reports about the computer controlled LCD backlight. Also of more immediate importance is accessing the I2C connectors on the UNO which have not been brought out on the shield, which blocks easy access to the Arduino. I don't want to simply tack connecting wires to the base of the Microprocessor. Otherwise it is exactly what I was looking for, and am now happy with my purchase.
