Definitely a project - but super cute!
This is definitely a project kit - similar to something you'd buy in a craft store, but the pieces are all pre-cut, so it's just a little stitching and assembly. The instructions are in Japanese (I think), but they are also illustrated, and it's easy enough to figure out what you're supposed to do based on the photos in the instructions. The most difficult part was the assembly of all the little pieces. This is where it may have been easier if I could read the instructions, and why I took off one star.In the end, I supplemented the kit with a few things I had on-hand. The kit included some clear fishing line, but it is coiled, and I had some difficulty getting it to lay straight - I'm sure it would straighten out with time, but I ended up using jewelry thread I had on hand instead. The photos in the instructions also suggest that you tie the ribbon at the top into a knot to create the loop you hang it through, but I threaded on some beads that I had and stitched the ribbon together to create a little neater finish. The package also includes a stick for a hot-glue-gun, which I think is intended to be used to glue the two sides of the stars together around the strings. I didn't really like the idea of the hot glue falling apart, so I stitched the stars onto the strings instead. It was hard to tell how those were intended to be attached from the photos in the instructions. In the end, I'm really pleased with the product. I saw a very similar mobile pre-assembled on an online marketplace for hand-crafted goods selling for $90+. For $16 and a little time, I think the kit totally worth it.

DIY to the extreme!!!!
When the description says "DIY" it fails to say that not only are you to assemble the product but you have to hand sew the stuffed animals together yourself. To make it even more fun, the instruction packet they send is in Chinese! So, for those of us born in the US, you'll just have to figure it out for yourself. Not a fan at all of this purchase.

Way too DIY
This thing is ridiculous. They are charging way too much for a bag filled with felt and wooden balls. If I had known, I would’ve just gone to Michaels and done this myself without the middle man. I have a baby... ain’t got time for this nonsense.

Deserves a no star rating
DIY doesn’t begin to describe this flimsy piece of crap. Ordered off a gift registry. I would be more than embarrassed to have this opened up in front of a baby shower. $5 would be too much for this item.

NOPE NOT GONNA DO IT
I can't sew. This product is COMPLETELY disassembled. You get felt outlines and two bags of fluff. Seriously, my grandma would have a hard time sewing the tiny pieces together. Sent back immediately.
