Walrus AudioKangra Filter Fuzz

I wanted to love it, but for my needs, this comes across as a specific, not-too-flexible fuzz paired with a fun, vibey envelope filter. But there are probably better examples of both out there in separate pedals. I understand this was made for the SNL guitarist, and he probably has an exact sound and style he's going for. I think if you're looking for that, maybe no other pedal does this. But if you're looking for a versatile fuzz, go for something else.The artwork is the star here. Probably my favorite paint job so far. Anyway, Walrus is top of my list for boutiques (Ages, SLO) along with Earthquaker, so I'll assume it's not the pedal, it's me.

The media could not be loaded.  This is my favorite fuzz of all time and the only one worth having on my board because of the filter. Its a nice, ripping and spitting fuzz with good options and then its even useful just for the filter with the fuzz off using the expression pedal. Wonderful. So happy about this purchase.

This pedal has both an octave fuzz and a filter. I don't love the fuzz - you can change modes, but the only knob to control it is the volume one which means that the fuzz has pretty much only a single sound. It's also very glitchy; it's not a versatile sound.Filter is a different story though and what saves the pedal in my eyes. You can use it with an expression pedal to simulate a wah, get an autowah-like effect and more.I'd consider this pedal a nice filter with an optional quirky fuzz. The sound of the fuzz is just not versatile enough, but filter redeems it, if you'd want to use it.

Sounds great on that one setting but the amount of fuzz needs to be variable. Choking it with less level doesn’t really work because of the in built gate.
