Behold the Mystery: A Deeper Understanding of the Catholic Mass

I am constantly looking for new ways to understand the Sacrifice of the Mass and to explain it to others. This work aided me in both respects. It is broad enough that many would gain value from its content without going into particular depths that folks might not be able to relate to their faith or even understand how the knowledge relates back to what they see in the liturgy.

Mark Hart's book, "Behold the Mystery" not only provides a deeper understanding of the Mass, but inspires me to continue to look for more in my faith then one hour a week.Mark's inspiration and insights in this book provides an enlightening look at the many amazing blessings and gifts that come through Mass. Also taking time to learn, read and know more as explained in the book gives me a greater appreciation of all the intricate parts of the Mass.After each chapter, the questions for reflection and discussion make the journey to read this book complete. Also the FAQ and section of ten ways to get more out of Mass are helpful. The book is laid out with wonderful chapters on different topics of the Mass. Easy to read, understand and learn as Mark shares so much. And of course Mark's personality and story telling adds to the joy of this book.I read it loud and clear, as Mark says, "the Mass isn't lacking; we are."Thanks for providing the theology, tools, tips, touches throughout your book to make Mass even more enriching.

I have used many materials BY Mark Hart for my PSR (CCD) classes and in preparing the young church of today for Confirmation. He is amazing, reaches those who he is speaking too. Easy to understand. I say why use a $50.00 word when a $.50 gets the same meaning across? His latest book will give you many Ahh Moments. The questions at the end of each chapter are great for individual reflection or as an aid in a church book study. If this is the 1st book you purchase by Mark, you will not be disappointed and you will be excited to read his other books. You will NOT be disappointed.

Simple yet well-written introduction to the incredible mystery that is the Mass. Mark Hart writes a book with lots of theological information that is very easy to read, but that does a great job getting the message across. As a cradle Catholic, I've been recently trying to read more books that reaffirm my faith, and I learned quite a few things reading this book that I didn't know before. I feel prepared to dive into a more theologically dense book about the Mass after reading this.

While I am still in the process of reading this book, what I have read has been excellent. I am using it as a teaching tool for a group of young people who are preparing to enter the church through the RCIA program and have many questions about the mass and its meanings. This book is thought provoking and full of insights. I highly recommend.

I have been searching for a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Mass for awhile now. As a cradle catholic, I felt like I was going through the motions with little passion. This book has ignited a new love for the Mass I had long forgotten! I makes me excited to go again and see what new pieces stand out to me. Highly recommend!!!

Hart's in-depth description of meaning of all parts of the Mass is so informative and brings an appreciation to our astoundingly wise Catholic faith. The questions at end of chapters are so helpful in a discussion group. Bought copies for all our deacons and priests.

As a person taking RCIA, this book has been awesome, thank you for writing it. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever wondered why do we do that in mass, or what does this symbol stand for? I plan on reading it again to get the finer details.

I have been going to mass daily. This book showed me more chances to be more spiritually enriched and get most a meaningful participation of the Holy Eucharist.
