Coleman BatteryGuard LED Lantern Shines up to 1000L, Water-Resistant, Batteries Last up to 25% Longer Than Other Lanterns

I've bought this lantern as well as LE Lantern, which is rated at 1000 lumen as well, for my camping trip. After using both lanterns for a week, I like this one much better than LE. First of all, I like warmer light it produces, it looks more natural. It doesn't blind as much if you look directly at the lantern in complete darkness of a camping site - probably because of better light dissipation with a very uniform brightness across all the surface.I really like the location of the power switch at the top of the lantern. It is very easy to find even in complete darkness and turn the lantern on. Also, the rotary design of the power switch makes it very easy to set desired brightness/mode. It is better than regular power buttons.Having batteries completely disconnected while the lantern is turned off makes it perfect for storage till the next summer. For example, for LE lantern, I had to cut out a cardboard insert to disconnect batteries from the lantern and prevent draining the batteries over time.And, last of all, I like the build quality and look of the lantern. Also, it has a perfect size - not too small, and not too large. I highly recommend this lantern.

Part of our hurricane/tsunami preparedness, but we use it during power failures, too. It’s a terrific lamp and gives off lots of light.

We needed this lantern for whenever the power goes off. This lantern is not too bulky but gives off a very strong light - just what we needed! Yes, the bottom is a bit difficult to take on and off for battery placement - but if you are careful and put the disc back on with the notch fitting into the lantern in the correct way, there is no problem - just be careful and aware of placement.

This is very bright and that’s what we wanted. Used it for several hours while working and it was perfect to read and work with small parts. I just got a second one!

Was delighted that I purchased these before hurricane season hit us. So I put batteries in and couldn’t wait to see how well it worked. The thing jammed and I could not get it in position, could not take batteries out, could not get a light.i called Kohlman what a nasty joke! First a female rep told push this, twist that, press this and it made no sense that these directions would solve the jam up. After 15 min . Of this she told me I needed to get some in the house who is stronger than me to do it. I hit the ceiling ! I am a female, 5’8” , I do everything a household requires myself because I can - I am hulk strong! So I hung up and turned to google for a hint. There before my eyes story after story about this product expresssing the exact same experience. I returned the lanterns . However the brand new 4D Duracells went with it because they could not be removed unless I wanted to smash it. I called Amazon. Thankyou Amazon for your help with this product and for compensating me for the batteries I lost to the product. No kohlman products for me ever again.

With today's economy its a great hack to lower your electric bills. I live in a apt and my electric bill went from $120/month to $38/month. Be creative and you can enjoy savings. The lantern provides more then enough light at night for a medium sized room while watching TV. Works great in any room in the house recommended!!

Based on the price I wasn’t expecting much but this little guy was so bright and lasted as long as I needed it to. Batteries lasted the whole evening. I brought a long extra but didn’t need them

I had 4 of the Coleman red ones, these are bright and compact! Get them

this is NOT from amazon. bought two, one very good, other broken. a major shambles trying to return it.Avoid this and buy elsewhere. these are made in CHINA so Coleman,s good name for quality may not be as good for this item. will now buy an official chinese made one cheaper. Save possible hassle buy elsewhere.sat 22 october. Amazon has accepted this and refunded the cost, I can't see why this has to be from the USA direct. Still thank you amazon for your honesty and fair dealing.

Compact and sturdy. I often use it in my farm. Perfect for outdoors as well as indoors. No issues even when exposed to rain. But wipe and dry once under roof. Placement of switch is great. Won't blind you when operating. I use rechargeable batteries, tested for 6 hrs continuous run. It worked well. Be cautious when closing the battery lid. Follow instructions manual to avoid any issues. Since it was import to India, I shelled out more bucks. But trust me, this Coleman lantern is perfect for outdoors and during power outage.
