Active Series Field Dog Chicken Formula, Peas and Flax Free Dry Dog Food, 30 lb. bag

I did some extensive research on a good food without the protein boosting of peas, white potatoes, legumes, and lentils but could never seems to find anything. I came across Sport Dog Food whole browsing DogfoodAdvisor on a simple “beat food for labs” search. With all the FDA issues with other brands like Taste of the Wild, Orijen, Fromm - I am highly concerned about selecting a kibble for my chocolate lab, Bruce. Let me start off by saying this food is amazing and a total game changer to the pet food industry as far as kibble goes. It has some grain, but not the typical rice like other brands. It contains two ingredients such as millet and sorghum. It is totally wheat, soy, and corn free. Not to mention white potato, legume, pea, and lentil free. They use a notable amount of animal protein only to boost the protein and though the price may be a little higher than the others, you feed significantly less saving money in the long run. I love that it’s offered in a 30lb bag. How may companies still do that? Very few I can say. Bruce loves the flavor and the kibble size is good for digestion and fear free of regurgitation or bloating. Sport Dog Food also has excellent customer service skills. They sent me three sample packs of the Field Dog brand I requested and even wrote a wonderful thank you note and welcomes myself and Bruce to the pack. So far my big mutt loves this food. He is always excited for mealtimes, and it's been a few months on this stuff. I switched from a grain-free store bought brand to this grain inclusive, taurine inclusive, legume free variety when I found out about the heart problems dogs were getting from eating grain-free. My pup has sensitive skin and a sensitive digestive system and this seems to be nice on his belly and hasn't made his skin any worse. It also packs a lot of kcals so make sure not to overfeed your dog and to use low cal treats between meals, if weight could be a concern. So glad this brand exists, keep up the good work!

We have a very high energy, young English Springer Spaniel who’d had loose stools and couldn’t keep the weight on due to his high metabolism. This really helped! Perfect for high energy sporting dogs. The cost is worth it for us.

I have been using this food for over a year. My dog was so picky and I finally came across this brand. Perfect combination of quality ingredients/price. I live overseas now and am so happy they are in stock on amazon. I don’t know what I would do if not. The only thing is now that I buy through amazon, the shipping boxes always come broken or almost broken. When I ordered directly from SportDogFood I never had this issue. Please ship in sturdier boxes! I’ve had 2 bags of food deliver with holes in it!

Food seems decent, but I went with another after one bag of this

My dog has a sensitive stomach (chocolate lab). I called this company and asked what they recommend. They told me this food was good because it has higher fiber. Well wouldn't you know my dog has been doing so so so amazing on it! No more diarrhea plus she doesn't;t need to eat as much.

Can’t rate it for flavor cause I didn’t taste it, but my puppy thinks it’s good. Wanted a high quality dog food without legumes and with old fashioned grains. My dog seems really healthy on this feed, judging weight, coat and poop.
