Bonavita Electric Hot Water Kettle for Tea and Coffee - 1 Liter Pot with Gooseneck Spout and Variable Temperature Settings

This product basically revolutionized my coffee routine. I recently got an aeropress and trying to heat water to the correct temp and maintain that temp was added hassle. This kettle easily let's me set the water temp to 180, and the "hold" functionality keeps the water at that temperature for an hour, which is great if I know I'll be wanting a second cup of coffee. It's a huge time saver, looks really sharp parked next to a chemex (which the gooseneck is perfect for!) and an aeropress, and it works flawlessly! Maintenance is no different from what I had to do when I was using a stove top kettle, so I consider this purchase to be a huge win!

The media could not be loaded. I wound up returning the first of these kettles I purchased since it didn't get the water hot enough. When I bought the second (and it did the same thing,) I knew it was a design flaw.Pros- Beautifully stylish.- Great pour control from the narrow pour spout. AWESOME for pouring over freshly ground coffee for a manual drip.- Beautifully weighted.- LOVE that it has temperature control.Cons- The temperature it delivers isn't the temperature you set. (It's off by 10-25 degrees in some cases.)- If you tip the kettle too much, water will spill out the top.- WILL NOT boil water. (It will simmer it, but not boil.)- Plastic from where the handle attaches DOES make its way into the kettle and is exposed to hot steam, whose condensate will drip back into the water below.Overall - Could be better, could be worse.
