Great cooking utensils with quality silicone
I was looking for a cooking utensil set to replace my old plastic ones, andI took a chance on silicone. The utensils are teal silicone with woodenhandles and can be displayed in a matching holder. I like the color, and itis just as the picture, but I would be beneficial if they had more coloroptions. The set definitely provides sufficient cooking utensil tools youneed in the kitchen. In addition to the eleven different utensils, the setalso includes a measuring spoon set and small silicone oven mitts. Thedescription shows all the utensils included and also talks of the materialand tips for use.The silicone is quite durable and thick, although there is an odor when youfirst open the box. The utensils should not be used in the dishwasher due tothe wooden handles, but I was lazy and put them in anyhow. They stood upfine, but I imagine over time, the wood would start to break down, so I handwashed them most of the time.I cooked a variety of food items on a non-stick pan and they workedbeautifully from the spoon to the slotted flipper. The silicone is greatfor non-stick, but they also worked well with my Instant Pot, which Iusually only use wood utensils. Unlike thin plastic utensils, the thicksilicone will likely hold up to high temperatures.The only complaint is the size of the spatulas are quite small, so not idealfor pancakes or larger items.The lightweight plastic measuring spoons come in 5 different colors with thestandard measures from 1/4 tsp to 1 tbsp. The silicone mitts are small andwill basically cover your fingers only. Caution: They are great for a quickgrab of something hot, but I could feel the heat through the mitts when I grabbed a hot pan straight out of the oven.
