Love it
I've been using the Kaytee Aspen Small Animal Pet Bedding for my guinea pigs, and overall, I'm quite pleased with it. The bedding is made from natural aspen wood shavings, which are free from harmful chemicals and additives, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for my pets. One of the things I love most about this bedding is its excellent absorbency. It keeps the cage dry and odor-free for a longer time compared to other beddings I've tried. Cleaning the cage has become much easier, and my guinea pigs seem to enjoy the clean and comfortable living space. The shavings are also virtually dust-free, which is a significant plus. I've noticed a reduction in respiratory issues since switching to this product. It's soft and gentle on my guinea pigs' feet, and they love burrowing and nesting in it.The only downside is that it can be a bit pricey compared to other options. However, the quality and peace of mind it provides are well worth the extra cost. If you're looking for a reliable and safe bedding option for your small pets, I highly recommend Kaytee Aspen Small Animal Pet Bedding.

I use as a bunny litter for my Dwarf Rabbi
I use as a bunny litter for my Dwarf Rabbit. Does a tremendous job controlling odor for up to a week, easy to clean up and shreds are a perfect size without dust which is bad for their respiratory system.

Kaytee Aspen vs Walmart's Pet's Pick Aspen. Ready?
Both of these are good aspens. It's pretty much the dealers choice. Personal preferences really.I have 20 pets, 7 are snakes. I also have a lot of rats and mice. Along with other stuff. I have 20 cages for a unique collection of pets. I need to keep up with aspen, soil substrate, and bark. But this review is for aspen.I've had snakes for many years and I've always used Pet's Pick, a Walmart brand. Hey, Walmart isn't all bad.I feed all of my snakes in their habitats, always have, cage aggression is a lie if you do feeding right.Kaytee, I've been getting this lately. For a few months. And I'm confident within my experiences to write a review on it. I got the 52L bag of Kaytee. In a dumb down morons way of putting it, I am foreign, English isn't my best language, so... Bare with me.Kaytee is clunky. It doesn't stick together as well as it should or as I expected it to. Therefore, I don't personally like it. I've had a few experiences where my snakes would eat and would get Kaytee aspen in their mouth due to it's non-sticky-clumpy together nature. It's like a free-roaming nuisance. I've had to pry a few of my snakes mouths open to grab big chunks of Kaytee Aspen out before they swallowed it. And yes my snakes let me do that, they're pretty cool.Pet's Pick aspen, doesn't get everywhere. Whenever my snakes move around, they don't rearrange the entire cage because this stuff isn't as fluffy, getting everywhere I don't want it to. Whenever my snakes eat, they don't ever get this stuff stuck in their mouths. Ever. Never has. The aspen doesn't even get lifted up when my snake constricts. This aspen falls right to the ground. Love it.Pet's Pick aspen comes in a 24L bag, but it expands to about 72L for $5.Kaytee's 52L bag I got for $10.99, is that's it. 52L. No expansion.Money and liter size isn't an issue when it comes to pet health. If you ONLY buy your pets cheap stuff, you shouldn't have a pet. BUT, I find the Pet's Pick a lot more beneficial and less of an annoyance.I suppose since Pet's Pick is manufactured stuck together and expands only when breaking up, it has a way of always sticking pretty much together as opposed to Kaytee, where it's born spaced apart, shipped and opened the same way.Smell wise, both are good.Texture wise, Kaytee roughs and irritates my hands more than Pet Pick's, which can't be too enjoyable for my snakes if my hands feel the coarseness immediately.Health wise, which oils and stuff each is made from, the center that makes them, all of the scientific stuff. I have no idea. I've been using Pet's Picks for years and my snakes have always been healthy. My exotic vet even applauds me on how well I take care of my snakes. That's it for my review. Thanks ~ Mia

Makes a great substrate for mushroom farming!
I use these Aspen shavings as a substrate for growing wine cap mushrooms. It's been a great, cost effective find and keeps my mushrooms sprouting year after year!

Best mulch we've tried for our pet rabbit! Limits the smell, and absorbs twice as much as other brands!! Great size for the price!
