Great kayak for heavier folk and beginners!
First off, let me say that this kayak says the weight limit is 325 lbs. and I have been reading all over the internet that you are not supposed to weigh anywhere near the weight limit. Let me just say that that is completely wrong! I weighed in at 318 lbs. the night before taking my maiden voyage in the Renegade XT and it performed like a champ! It was like a cork on the water and I didn't have so much as a hint of feeling like I might tip over or lose control. If your a larger individual and/or new to kayaking the Renegade XT is perfect!

This kayak doesn't track well because the bottom is very flat. When it's windy out it will actually spin you sideways.

Spinner.
I'll be adding a fin/skeg to help with the tracking. I do tend to putter around when fishing, and the quick steering is nice, but if your out with friends, you can't actually keep up because it swings back and forth too much, and spins if you stop working the paddles. Besides poor tracking, it's great, and once skeg is attached, it should be more than reasonable. Also: scupper plug holes make a lot of noise when water plops into them, and this is quite annoying, so I will add some epoxy to redirect water, and sand/file out where needed to fix problem. I'm also adding a second hatch in the front, where it seems like they should have one. I might even use a jigsaw to cut out in the back well so I can get in there to clean or shuffle gear around, but I would need to add a strip of material, a gasket, hinges, and a clasp to make it sincere again. If you plan on getting this: plan on putting some work into it. Tip for emotion: price is nice, but if it just spins around, it isn't a functional product. Companies shouldn't sell products that aren't functional. Also the plug holes plopping water noise is unbearable.

Take a pass....
good price for emotion fishing kayak. looks great but doesn't track well and turns over easy. dry compartment has no well and is the inside of the kayak where things can easily move out of reach. If I had it to do over I would take a pass.

Stable and comfortable but not to good tracking
I weigh in at 305 so I choose this kayak for the stability and comfort and that it is but the tracking is not the best but I will trade stability and comfort at my size any day over good tracking over all a good kayak.

Solid fishing yak!
First ever kayak, so far it has been really great! Only issue the tank opening could be a little bit further away from the sitting area.I am 6'2 260 lbs and worked great. Never felt like was going to tip or took on water. First trip got a 2lb cat. I cant say how well it tracks I was able to get to where I wanted to go. Even went backwards for trolling

however it tracks like paddling an inner tube
It is stable and roomy, however it tracks like paddling an inner tube. spent most of the time fighting to keep it straight. and the seat is terribly uncomfortable.
