Smittybilt Inc 2740-01 I-Rack Jack and Gas

Very Heavy, wing nuts hard to tighten due to spare tire in the way. Need to buy additional parts to hold gas can.

Works great! Set it up to hold 2 Jerry cans & highlift jack. Have to tighten up pretty often, but overall pleased.

The biggest and first issue I had with this was the spacing of the holes for the bolts for the hi-lift jack. I tried every combination and none of the holes and their spacing would line up to fit the spacing of the holes on my Hi-Lift brand hi-lift jack. I ended up having to drill out a larger hole to give the bolt room to move down to be able to slide into a place and fit the hole allignment of the hi-lift jack. I'm suspicious if Smittybilt hi-lift jacks have different spacing for their holes and this is a way to get you to buy their hi-lift jack if you want it to fit their rack.My second issue is after I mounted it on my tire carrier, which fit no problem being that it was also Smittybilt brand, and it makes since that one Smittybilt product would fit another, I noticed the rack was crooked. The rack is not square to the tire carrier like you would expect it to be.After taking it out on the Rubicon I found out that the wing nuts do not hold tight well. Just on the drive down there, on normal roads, the wing nuts came loose. I ended up having to put a dab of loctite on the bolts to keep them from coming loose.In the end, it's an okay product and does what it says it would do, I just don't like all the little problems and hassles I had to fix to get it to that point. Everything should have fit right from the beginning.

Actually I doubt if I will mount this, unless I go to some Jeep jamboree, it covers the spare, and I use my TJ as a daily driver, got a great price on it $59, my Highlift jack is 60" so it stands out, and the usual mountain places on a TJ would not work.

The product is fine but there needs to be an important note regarding this item. It will not work with original OEM wheels because the center opening is not large enough. I contacted the seller and was told this is the case and amazon should update the description information to reflect this. YOU NEED LARGE AFTERMARKET WHEELS OR THE STEM MOUNT WITH NOT FIT THE WHEEL OPENING. ORIGINAL OEM WHEELS DO NOT WORK WITH THIS PRODUCT.
