What a really good read!
Fourth Point of Contact's the series starter in The Warden and the General. HEA. MM Romance, Fantasy. Military. Historical. Suspense. Best friends to lovers. GFY.2POV, 3rd person, past tense. This kindle edition 335 pages, 18th October 2018.How on earth I never read this before! Ohhh I loved tthis one. I'm going to start reading the next one right away :DI'm a fantasy gal at heart and this was a great MM fantasy to my personal taste with flying colors and shinging 5 stars. I loved everything about. It has a great characters, story, lengthm writing style, created world and framework, love story, humour, action - just about anything I'd want. It wasn't all just some bedroom escapade fest, it was full of plot and great repartee and action, suspense, romance. I can't say I'd be missing anything, there was nothing extra, it certainly wasn't boring but at the edge of my seat read that was very eagerly consumed. I cannot wait what new adventures await Ren and Arman in Shiirei in the second book!Recommended!

an epic story
I enjoyed this story and all of the characters involved. Tall silent type, willowy and well trained type, royals who are willing to think outside the box and family that love you even if they don’t understand you.I will look for the other books in this series and continue with the MC’s.

Worth a read, even if LBGTQ lit isn’t your jam!
This has been in my “TBR” pile for a while, and boy am I glad I finally took the plunge. It was SO ROMANTIC. Loved the political intrigue, loved the slow build in relationship.Minor quibble: every country in the world has a cultural opinion about gay marriage except Aart. Who.. apparently has never heard of it? Nope. Who/how people love is an intrinsic part of humanity. IT WOULD HAVE COME UP at some point in history lol.

I enjoyed every word of this very long novel!
This is one of those novels I genuinely enjoyed, but is so long that by the time I went to the order email to click the review link, I laughed a little crazily to be reminded I'd only spent 99 cents on it.I mean, this is a heck of a good deal, all this lovely story for less than a dollar.I am often bored by long castle/monarchy type stories, but not by this one. The setting is vaguely European/Asian-ish, all fictional. As long as Ren intrigue you in the first few pages, you will enjoy it too. I was engaged with every character and all the puzzles and intrigue, because there's a lot of humor and sweetness. My catnip.

Such a great book!
After rereading How to Shield an Assassin and then reading the 2nd in the series How to Steal a Thief, I decided to revisit this book because I remembered really liking it and knowing I'd want to reread it in the future... So I jumped back in and yep, I was right! The author is just such an incredible storyteller! It's obvious that a lot of thought went into creating this world and the characters are so engaging, I was totally rooting for them to get together. The intrigue of court politics and the mystery of who is out to destabilize things and why carries the story along swiftly.I originally read this through KindleUnlimited, but I went ahead and purchased this one (as well as the 2 "How to..." books) because I really hope that there will eventually be another book in this series... Even is there isn't, I know I'll still reread this one in the future which is my standard of a great book, so I decided I wanted my own copy.

A perfect blend.
Pretty close to equal parts action/adventure and romance.I love how Arman doesn’t say much but Ren can read him like a book. I truly “LOL’d” several times with how cute the couple was.The pacing of the novel was good and had a good sense of found family that was a nice addition to the other elements in the story.Heat level a 2/5. Love scenes were nice but served more to illustrate the 2 MC’s feelings as opposed to being erotic literature.I’m super excited about a sequel!

In a perfect world
I would love to read more about these two men. It seems like Sherwood had a series planned, but it never went anywhere. She sets it up for another book that was never forthcoming. I loved that the MCs were opposites in many ways but shared certain characteristics. It wasn’t quite opposites attract. Both were funny and engaging in their own unique way. It was not hard at all to tell them apart, which sometimes happens in MM stories (the bad ones). The plot was interesting, with its intrigue and some action. I would have liked a little more action and a little less stories about how this person met that one, but that is a relatively minor quibble and happened mostly at the end. The secondary characters were well-written and often amusing, though I got a little tired of Roslyn. I think the author liked her better than I did. I feel like this was written in a perfect world, but sometimes we need heartwarming stories, even improbable ones. I love this writer and will continue to look for her books. Her Unholy Trifecta and Jon’s Mysteries series are also really good.
