Excelshow SATA Blu-ray BD-R/RE Drive Burner Writer for Toshiba Satellite P775 P500 Series

Replaced OEM Toshiba drive with this one. Comes as drive only, no player. Had to swap face to match my laptop and transfer mounting bracket otherwise it was a perfect fit. Be careful with this as the little tabs that hold the face on. They are rather flimsy and break easily. Most Bluray players need firmware updates to keep playing the latest releases. Don't know if this drive firmware will updated seeing as how I just bought it about two weeks ago and it's already not currently available.

Item worked as advertised, just need to remove old bezel and install new one. Plenty of youtube videos to show you how if you are unsure, extremely easy. Now to the part I didn't like, you have to buy a software to play the new bluray movies. I purchased ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 6. There ate plenty to choose from and VLC my free favorite doesn't work with Win 7 as of now, but looking forward to a new release to make this happen soon!!

The blue-ray player was easy to install and it works great. The only problem their is... For Windows 7 Media Player. It will not play Blu-ray disks. You need to get blu-ray software for it. After I got this it worked great.

Real easy to swap out, watched a few You Tube videos and the change took 15 minutes. Remember, when you add a Blu Ray drive to your laptop you need a Blu Ray video player to go with it.

Working well for now. Have used only 6 times.
