I'm diabetic on one of the medicines where a perineal infection is a risk as well as prone to dermatitis, eczema fungal and infections. I was hospitalized from a skin infection from a medicine reaction that got into my leg and I lost tendons , my nurse mentioned Pine tar to help keep infections at bay. It works as advertised and when I try and use other soaps my skin flares up again. I use this and Packers eclusively as I tried other brands and they are messy, stain my tub and don't work (Looking at you Dr Squatch). I used to be able to buy it locally but no longer and this is a great deal. So it keeps the skin healthy and lotions amd topical medicines apply easier. It rinses clean and softens my very dry skin and reduces itch immediately. No you will NOT smell like the soap all day unless you don't rinse I use it in my hair and it eliminates psoriasis in my scalp. It doesn't overpower any other products I use such as Lotions, deodorants or fragrances. People act like they will die but clean is not always scented like vanilla mango lavender. This is a good honest clean that will keep your skin healthy and odor free longer because it removes dead skin and has a long lasting germ and fungal kill. If you read other reviews it's great for many skin issues if you just want pine scent etc. Try Duke Cannon or something the scent is strong on the bar but really it's no worse than a backwoods cabin. Also Grandpa makes other formulas no pine tar based as well as Kirks Castille soap that also work well. I'm grateful for my nurse for leading me to this and if you are suffering ignore the fragrance victims and give this a try. Honestly it's amazing.

I actually like the way it smells, like campfire almost but pine, and it’s not strong on the skin but just sitting out in the bathroom it’s very very noticeable. Which you may like, I don’t particularly mind but it’s noticeable.

I purchased this soap after using Dr Squatch Pine Tar soap and the two smell extremely different than one another.This one takes on a very overwhelming wood fire smell. The same smell you get after sitting next to a campfire for a good while. You get the smell on your clothes. Very much the same smell. It’s smell is so strong that you’ll smell it the minute you walk into your bathroom. I don’t hate it but it’s a bit too much for my liking personally.The bar itself isn’t too bad. It doesn’t have a lot of texture. Very smooth bar of soap.

I was unfortunate enough to get the PUPPS rash during the 35th week of my twin pregnancy. Let me tell you, it is NOT fun. I would consider myself one of the more severe cases, as I was entirely covered by this rash within a matter of days; it was even between my fingers and toes. The doctor told me to take oatmeal baths and take Benedryl at night, neither of which did a thing for me. She also told me there was no cure except delivery. Faced with the prospect of having to endure this horrible itchy rash for weeks ahead, I looked around for cures online. Thank god for the reviews here about this soap. As I said, I would consider myself a severe case of PUPPS rash, and this soap has almost entirely taken it away within 10 days time. I followed the instructions left by most reviewers here: was yourself three times a day with the soap for four days (if you are severe like I was). I just lathered up with a wash cloth and really took my time lathering it on my skin. I also pointed the shower nozzle away from me and let it set on my skin for 5 minutes. Then rinse off in cool water. Do not be alarmed if the rash seems to be getting worse at first - I believe that is how it works - it draws the rash out and dries it out. I truly looked like I had the measles after getting out of the shower. Also, do not use any lotion at all while you are doing the soap treatments, it works against what the soap is trying to do. After three days, I saw a marked improvement, especially on my stomach where the rash had first started. After 4 days of 3 showers, I cut it back to 2 showers for 3 days, and now I am taking 1 shower a day. The rash is only hanging on in a few places, with some itching still, but absolutely better. I will continue to use the soap until I deliver, because I certainly do not want this coming back. Thank god for this soap, I was in pain and in tears and truly miserable. Do yourself a favor and just overnight it, don't suffer any longer than you have to.

This stuff is really good for my dry and itchy skin and the smokey smell is interesting. I specifically look for the pine soap because it is wonderful for its healing properties and this is a well done product though I'm personally not in love with the scent.

Much better than I was expecting. The soap has a plesant smokey pine sent, lathers nicely, and leaves a clean feel after showering. So far it's been helpful in releiving the symptoms of a psorasis flare up.
