Works beautifully!
I have an older Craftsman saw so I needed to get a splitter since it doesn't have a riving knife and I bought a new setup clearance table insert. This was easy to install, the instructions are detailed and easy to read and getting it done from me about half an hour after reading the instructions. This definitely helps prevent dangerous kickbacks and works really well with keeping the parts right to the fence as I cut.Couldn't be happier!

A must for safety
I am a woodworker of 40 years. I work alone much of the time and often thought of what would happen if....My saw is an older model and never had a splitter. I have made many rips over the years and occasionally had a kick-back all because of no slitter on the saw. this is a great inexpensive safety devise. Easy to install. Also I recommend the Micro Jig push block system. It makes handling long or thin stock much safer. My saying is " if it doesn't feel right don't do it".

Great way to add splitter to older saw
Does a great job at adding a splitter to a saw without one. Works extremely well with.Installation was well documented and straightforward, but read carefully! The procedure is easy enough but exacting. I installed mine on a leecraft zero clearance insert on a Delta Unisaw. The only problem I had was the posts that mount the splitter to the saw insert were extremely tight (oversized?) so it was impossible to press them in by hand per instructions. I had to us mechanical persuasion.I would buy again.

Update
I had high hopes for this kerf keeper/splitter. I followed the instructions precisely, measure, marked and cut the installation board, mounted that per the instructions, and drilled the holes for the splitter once as per the instructions.Maintained the minimum two inch distance from the end of the ZCI, but when feeding a 5 foot pine board through the table saw the kerf keeper did not keep the kerf open, but squeezed the kerf keeper so tightly as the board was advanced through the saw that it pulled the kerf keeper up and bent one of the pins as shown in the photo.Disappointed in the lack of strength in the kerf keeper pins. I hoped for a better product.UPDATED REVIEW:I called the MicroJig support line and spoke with a support person that was extremely helpful. He offered a free replacement splitter and offer of an an upgraded model. I couldn't be more pleased with their customer service and support. MicroJig epitomizes what a responsible company should be. and I have not hesitations about recommending them highly. Thank you Morgan !

Will not eliminate unsafe situations, just changes its name.
This is not a splitting device, I would think it should be called a “stressed board finder” . If you want to find a board quickly that has a high degree of internal stress, just rip a 2x4. So in an effort to find out if this really worked for those extreme boards that have immense stress that will likely be the candidate for kickbacks, I cut a 2x4. And yep. It closed up on my blade. It closed up so quickly in fact that it pinched the blade before the wood even got to the splitter. That means the kerf was too tight to straddle the splitter. This stopped the cut. I shut the saw down, and removed the pinching board from my blade. The only benefit I can get from this is that it will serve as a third hand holding the cut material away from the blade and tight against the fence, if you use the fence on the right side of the blade. I say on the right side, because you will have to determine which side it tends to like. My saw is probably like many. The blade alignment to the miter slot is not perfect, but it is within .002 of being there. My fence is the same way. Not perfect but so close that it’s relation to my blade is not so much beyond measuring, but it is close and to tell the truth, might vary from one lock down to the next by that same .002. I will use the splitter when convenient. As for safety for kickback, when a stressed board squeezes these splitter inserts it creates a dangerous condition that requires one to exert an amazing amount of force and determination to continue the forward progression of the board being cut. If for whatever reason, that required effort is suddenly eliminated, for example; by breaking the pins off the bottom of the splitter, or by your push block slipping off the edge of the board. Your suddenly headed towards the blade. These plastic zero clearance insert additions do not have the ability to easily slide through the pinching kerf of wood.

Works great
This item came with excellent instructions, complete with photos. I was able to assemble the splitter in a short time. This works great along with my zero clearance table insert, and I feel much safer resawing on my table saw with the splitter in place.

Will not work on my Ridgid table saw
Will not work on my Ridgid table saw. No room at the out feed of the blade for the istalation of the device. But looks like a great Idea.

Great safety device for an old craftsman saw.
I was given on old Craftsman table saw that was about as primitive as they come, 3hp and no splitter or riving knife. Yay! I installed this kit with a new zero clearance plate which made the saw more enjoyable and a lot safer to use.Well spent twenty bucks and the 10 minutes for installation. Just do it!
