A Great work-at-your-own pace workshop.
Even though I am a little bit ahead of beginner level, I enjoyed this workshop. I advise watching it through a couple of times and then again when you burn the piece. The information is presented in lesson format so it is easy to review or pick-up at any point.Sue gives excellent tips for the many layers of shading required to finish a quality piece of pyrography art.

Excelllent Video and Instructions
I'm just starting on pyrography but there is a lot of beginner information in this DVD. Although the project isn't something I would start at my skill level I certainly look forward to being able to burn it. I would recommend this to all skill levels. As the saying goes there is something for everyone.

Best tutorial DVD
I've been an experienced pyrographer for over thirty years, but this video taught me new ways to enhance my craft. Sue is a brilliant tutor, her approach is very friendly and informative, but also thoughtful in the way she presents both the craft and methods of her work. The occasional background music is nice too. Sue takes you step by step through the tutorial of drawing a hawk's portrait, never skimping on anything, and in such a way that could only inspire both novice and experienced craft worker. Speaking from experience I only beg you not to take up this craft with cheap equipment, you will bitterly regret it as pyrography requires a responsive and flexible tool. Sue uses the Razertip pyrography machine, which is difficult to find, but can be obtained from Woodworks Craft Supplies over the internet. A similar machine would be fine, but please avoid those soldering iron types, they are very limited in what they can do, and any machine with a temperature dial is better by far. If you like the craft you will really enjoy this video, it will demonstrate the methods far better than any book can. Oh, and I'll give you newbies a tip. Always use the best timber, sycamore or lime, and if your work doesn't please you, don't throw the board away, you can recycle it back to new by lightly planing off the image, sand it smooth, then start again. Have fun, because I've never regretted taking up this wonderful craft.

Worth Every Penny
Though, far beyond my skill as a doddering old novice (72), it is packed with tips and tricks and worth the money. I will return to it at a later date, after my one day of lessons.
