Great external DVD drive
Bought a laptop that didn't have a drive, so this external did well for me. I needed to install some programs that I only had on (old-school) CD-ROM disks and I was glad to find this affordable option that was USB. Easy to use, portable, convenient and does the job.

My top notch Stellar DVD drive - Miluo
I was in search for a portable DVD/CD-ROM compatible drive. As with everything time was of the essences (meaning I needed ASAP!!! for a craft project). I didn't want to have to go through the mundane install drivers yada yada I feel we have evolve since those days (yeah I'm digressing on my IT Break-fix device days wonderful skill to have I did not want to use it unless I had to). Ya'll guess what? I chose this DVD drive because it was cute, yeah you read that right, and I in my feminine flare with my IT Support skills -like my devices pop'in (matching for those who don't know pop'in). It compliments my laptop being black and white with a honeycomb design top (love it!) and racing white stripes down the left and right sides. matching the lettering on the drive.I received it before the promise delivery date (winner! winner!) and it arrived be my project CD that I needed to review (winner! winner!) for prompt and fast delivery. Now let me explain how awesome sauce this DVD drive is:A) Unpacked from packing and put up the manuals (suggestion to others if you're not into technical devices read the manual when you get them but REVIEW the device on Google, or YouTube while it is on its way that way you will have a better feel for the device and how it should work when it comes, trust me it will make your life so much easier because equipment/devices can have their quirks - and for me "not this one").B) Plug in the USB cable into your laptop port. ***NOTE*** if you have a Desktop PC plug the USB cable into one of the back USB ports this type of device works better from the back powered ports on desktops (oops IT Break-fix tech talking sorry about that).C) Automatically installation of required drivers for the DVD drive. Laptop acknowledge DVD drive installed properly (you will normally see the little popup but hey, if you blink its gone just that fast ha ha ha) otherwise you get the blink of (in my device an amber light) for the drive letting me know it was connected and ready to read.D) Done. If by chance you get one review your manual or the videos and repeat steps A-C above. As for me it is working great. Thanks Amicool for my Miluo DVD drive that worked flawlessly right out of the box. That to me is Stellar.

CHECK THE REGION!
The school I work in decided to go with all new technology: TV's instead of smart boards, fancy laptop tablets, getting rid of all the desktops. However, they forgot to give us all DVD players to show films (some are mandated). I quickly bought this external drive for 22.00 because the county said "We aren't buying you something you need that we took. We gave you a TV you didn't want and gave you a tablet that can't handle the processing speed teachers need to operate" or something like that.It is plug and play. Seriously. However mine was set to region 2. Which would be nice if I was teaching in Europe. Not so much here in the US of A.How to fix it? I did a google search. But then I figured out an easier way. Plug in the DVD open it up and put in your DVD . Then find it on your file explorer (that folder looking thingie that has DVD on it) right click and choose properties and then region. You have 5 region changes so make sure you click the correct one!Simple. Also this is cheap enough that if you DO have a bunch of DVD's from a different region you can just buy this sucker, label it, and call it a day.

Durable Burner & Simple to Use
I bought the Miluo Tech external drive over 17 months ago. No drivers necessary - just plug n' play. It's an external DVD drive - high speed USB-C & USB 3.0 burner. Fast CD burning & reading/writing DVD's. Great for your PC's or laptop. I've used mine for over 17 months without an issue - obviously durable, plus it's easily portable. The only negatives I see are its inability to play Bluray DVD's & it has a short connecting cable from the drive to your device (although it tucks out of the way nicely).. Not really a problem for me as I keep the drive close to my laptop.I can't be more happy with this Miluo Tech optical drive. At its price it's an absolute no brainer. Have fun!

Works great; easy to setup
Updated review since I got my new laptop (still a great product!):I bought this for a new laptop I just but that doesn't come with a CD/DVD reader/writer. Before receiving my new laptop I connected it to my old laptop and Windows 10 recognized it. I did not get a device-connected dialogue box initially, but as soon as I popped a CD into the drive, a Windows Explorer box popped up letting me select individual mp3 tracks to play. Worked great with no lag between selecting a file and getting the sound. So it's responsive. Eject button works either through Windows Explorer dialogue, or the manual switch on the front. I like that the two-prong connecting cable stores securely flush in the bottom of the drive. I think it's a great deal for the price, and highly recommend it. Since I received my new laptop, I used it to install various programs and games that were on CD and/or DVD. I've also used it to play MP4 movies, etc. It's worked perfectly, and for the price, is a good deal. PS Didn't need to read the instruction manual to get it to work, so it's pretty self-explanatory to run.
