I love it. Couldn't be happier!
I have a huge open fireplace with the vents built into the chimney wall. The blowers that are currently in there do absolutely nothing. I have been searching for 3 years for a heat resistant blower with power. It came promptly, fit perfectly, and was easy to put together. One note, the directions for wiring it are a little vague, but I watched a you tube video and figured it out. The main thing is to know that black or white can go on either lead on the motor. It does not matter and the black wire can go into and out of either lead on the speed control and thermostat. It has great blowing power. It is a little noisy when turned all the way up but that is to be expected. No rattling or banging just the usual noise of air blowing out of a fan. I loved it so much I ordered a second one for the other side.

Perfect fit!
I installed this in my Napoleon Ascent 42” gas fireplace. For 3 years I struggled with the idea of paying $250 for the Napoleon AUB fan kit. I found these aftermarket kits on Amazon but figured it had to be garbage if it’s only $40. I finally decided I would try the budget kit and I am so glad I did! This kit is great! Easy to install, perfect fit, great flow and not noisy. It arrived well packaged and all parts seemed quality built. I highly recommend this kit!Note: If you are installing this in an Ascent series fireplace, check your outlet box under your fireplace and if it is a 2 prong outlet you will need a 2 prong to 3 prong grounded outlet adapter ($5 here on Amazon).

Pretty good value, but a bit noisy.
This is a universal fireplace blower; it should work in most fireplaces with aux power to inside the lower part of the unit. But there are some things you need to know...1. The installation documentation really is that bad. Inscrutable. It's not inaccurate really, just not detailed enough to be helpful. With just a bit more documentation, it would be really easy. The big help would be... see that end with a black connecting wire, a white connecting wire and a green connection that has just a hole in it... the white and black attach to the motor transformer tabs. And it doesn't matter which to which. The green must be screwed onto the fan case, meaning loosen a screw, attach and tighten. After that, the rest is pretty easy.2. The sticky pads... aren't. And clean the fan first with alcohol (like a decent glass cleaner) because it's a bit dusty and even less sticky.3. Check your fireplace outlet for power. The one labelled "Fan" in my Heatilator ND3630I doesn't actually put out power as configured. My guess is that it's meant to be switch driven. So I plugged into the Rem(ote)/Aux socket. But only after wondering why this little blower wasn't blowing.4. It hums. Not super loud, but easy to hear. A droning sound. And it's not the fan moving; it does this even at the lowest setting. My guess is the transformer is magnetically moving the case too, at that frequency. Not super annoying, but a bit so. Enough so that I put the control dial outside the fireplace so I can turn it off when I don't want the noise.5. It's a little fan, but can blow quite fast, at which point it makes a loud whooshing noise. Turned low it's not too bad. I tried to match the noise with the hum level. (I had considered getting a larger fan so that it could run slower - less noise - and still put out air - but given the hum above, I'm glad I didn't.)When all is said, it actually moves quite a bit of air. For the price, it's a pretty good buy. Everything you need for the install, except the actual power at the outlet, is included. But it could have been better if there were no hum and they included a photo of all the wires connected.

Patience needed to install, but stick with it!
Quality blower fan kit with everything you need. Got for a Heatilator NDV3630I gas fireplace. Like a jigsaw puzzle the hardest part is getting the unit to the back of the fireplace. Had to bend my flexible gas pipe to do it, and angle the fan just right. If you are patient you can do this! *Rectangle opening goes UP* But first...Outside the fireplace connect everything gently, plug into the wall (or the plug inside the fireplace) and test it. During the tests its okay if the fan is tilted to the right due to the weight of the transformer. To test the thermostat hold the metal side over a a flame lighter (watch out for the plastic wiring). Or just plug in the adjustable dial to experiment. Or both in a chain. To me the noise levels are just fine. Stick a big padded 3M sticky on the back of the fan for the back wall and leave the other side unpeeled. After I was satisfied everything was working I totally unplugged the fan then Jenga'd it inside. Once in place on the back wall wiring can be done. Black and white wires are interchangeable I believe but I think my white was plugged into the right side.Thermostat magnet stick to the underside of the fireplace about 1/3 to 1/2 way back. My fire turned on about 11 minutes after the fire started. To test everything a few fire cycles may be needed, turning on to heat up, turning off to cool down. Apply Velcro or stickies later. After the final test let things cool down and set up the Velcro. It is not easy, again patience, but I marked the corners of the fan on the ground with a Sharpie, moved the fan out of the way, and put both pieces of Velcro side by side there on the ground. Be sure to put them at fan front as that is the flattest spot on the fan. For the back wall the sponge sticky from the start takes care of the vibrations (I did not stick it to the wall). Good luck!

It’s ok...
The install was straight forward, but I’m not impressed by the airflow, seems to not be moving that much air, time will tell. If I feel differently after a week I’ll update the review. Also, it’s definitely noisy depending on the level your running.*update 1yr in*It now sounds like the bearing is going bad in the blower, lots of squeaking noises. I’ll likely have to replace the unit.
