I had a water issue in my basement (in a corner, from the wall) and part of my cement floor was wet. I dried it for weeks and put the flooring back down. I'm now suspicious every time it rains and this at least gives me an idea of how wet it might be under the flooring. It's easy to use, easy to see the face of it. It's maybe not quite as accurate as the $$$ meter the waterproofer guy used, but it does give me an idea and some peace of mind.

Well made. Seems to be accurate, as repeated tests show same results, and are within a tight range of a professional wood moisture tester. Useful to know the readings at different places in a crawl space. High reading can point to a hidden source of moisture, such as behind insulation or below a sometimes dripping duct. Can provide early detection of mold or fungus creating conditions, so the condition can be mitigated.

It took me a while never having used one, to get my head around understanding the measurements. It is mostly a comparison tool. To my thinking it appears pretty accurate. Again, this tool is new to me.The waisted yellow hand/finger grips are purely aesthetic, in fact I think they are detrimental to it's use. When you hold it and use it down low the screen is at an oblique angle, so you can't read it unless you use the Hold function.

This detector is so easy to use. You just insert into the wall for seconds, then it will beep, with the number shown on screen, which is also easy to read. Hope the two needles could be bit longer so the accuracy should be improved more to my private opinion.

Wasted money. My contractor came with a professional meter and showed a completely different result.

Dependable in identifying damp walls and possible sources of problems.

I bought this as I've had repairs done around my chimney and needed a way of checking that the leak had been resolved. This arrived promptly and neatky pakcaged. The detector is typical of these types of devices with two strong prongs at the top that measure the mositure contnet. The device has two settings, one for wood and one for building substrates (brick, stone, etc). There is a simple guide on the back that explains what the readings mean. Additionally, a simple user guide is also included which gives a fairly good explanation on how to use the detector (along with what not to do!). I took several readings over the surface of the wall and intend to go back in a few days in the hope that the readings will be lower (thereby demonstarting that the leak has been fixed). The detector requires a 9v batterry which is not included in the package. Ich hatte erst ein günstigeres Produkt von einem Mitbewerber bestellt, aber steckte die Kappe so fest auf dem Gerät, dass man als Frau entweder nicht messen kann oder danach keine Fingernägel mehr hat.Dieser Detektor von Brennenstuhl ist perfekt: einfach, robust, gut bedienbar und er ist auch für eine Frauenhand sehr gut zu bedienen: man kann die Schutzkappe durch die Vertiefung gut abziehen und als Schutz gegen Verlieren unten am Geräteboden anstecken. Das ist perfekt durchdacht! Auch die optischen und akustischen Signale sind einfach zu verstehen. Dass keine Batterie (9 V Block)dabei war finde ich nicht schlimm, denn ich habe immer eine auf Reserve da.Fazit: der Detektor ist seinen Preis wert und es macht Freude ihn zu benutzen- wer einmal ein "Billlig-Ding" verwendet hat, der weiß was ich meine... ;-)

No se pueden vender productos tecnológicos sin instrucciones en castellano; por eso le he dado solo 3 estrellas. No se evaluar su precisiòn porque no puedo comparar, pero tomando medidas en varios puntos de un mismo material homogéneo, son relativamente similares, lo cual parece positivo. No obstante, en muchos materiales -como la madera- las medidas en sitios distintos tienen que ser distintas: no es igual la humedad en un anillo de crecimiento de verano o de invierno, o en el durámen o la albura, o en el sentido de la veta o perpendicular a ella... Por lo demás, aún sin instrucciones inteligibles, es extremadamente simple y sencillo de usar.

Compré el medidor para medir la humedad de un suelo que acabo de hacer de cemento. No logro una medida estable ni uniforme en el suelo. Como al lado tengo un suelo también de cemento con 35 años de antigüedad tengo una "referencia" de un suelo seco para comparar. No hay forma, mide lo que le da la gana cada vez y en cada sitio. Al final me tocará estimar que está seco usando la regla de "el espesor al cuadrado en centímetros por dos" para saber los días que tardará en estar seco. La verdad es que ha sido tirar el dinero... ademas venía sin pila :-(
