Lékué - 3000100SURM017 Tool kit for preparing homemade pickles with container, Green, Single, 700 ml

This is a fabulous item, I’m so pleased with it. There are two glass jars with silicone seals and plungers. Others have commented on the price and I was also a little put off but this is going to make my pickling life so much easier. Previously I’ve used Kilner jars for fermentation which I then by a one way valve top for which adds to the price. Still cheaper than these from Lekue but I always struggled to keep my veg submerged. This plunger system is ingenious and the size (smaller than a pint glass) will mean I can ferment/pickle in small quantities and ensure a steady flow of Tsukemono for my breakfast.

Looking at the reviews, this is a bit hit and miss. One of the fermenting jars was brilliant, the other not - the device that presses down didn't stay down. I decided to risk it given there were lots of positive reviews, but was disappointed that one of the two jars isn't going to be much use without the device that presses down working properly.

Perfect for sauerkraut. Left in the cupboard for over 3 weeks, lots of saline and air to breath.

expensive jars but I like the piece inside which holds down the contents under the brine, have made some fermented beetroot so far and this is holding down the grated beet very well.
