It's ok
I didn't love the Brawny Smart Flex Paper Towels as much as I hoped I would. I'm used to paying top dollar for the Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towel. I liked the idea of using quarter sections of towels because I often break pieces off if I only need a little piece. I found the Brawny to not be as absorbent as the Bounty so I used more. It wasn't very easy to rip the quarter sheet off, often requiring 2 hands. If my hands are dirty or wet, I wouldn't want to touch the other towels or holder to get a quarter sheet, that would defeat the purpose. I think with a little improvement this will be a great product that I'm sure the other brands will probably all copy. As for right now, I'm going to stick with the other guy.

New concept, but doesn't improve it for me
We go back and forth between Brawny and Bounty paper towels; the two most important purchase factors are that they are select-a-size and then we look for the best price. These Brawny Smart Flex towels go one step further in that you can use just a quarter sheet if you choose to, rather than a half or full like the others. After using up both rolls I didn't find the quarter sheet any more helpful than the half sheet and quite often felt like I was inconvenienced by having to set aside the extra quarter sheet for use later when I only needed one to begin with. Overall the paper towels are good quality and absorbent, but I think the quarter sheet isn't as helpful as I thought it might be when I first requested these and the additional cost would keep me from buying them over the standard select-a size

Less waste with quarter sheets
Brawny is my go to choice for paper towels. They are great for wet clean up plus I use them as place mats. Now with the quarter size sheets I find they're perfect for coasters. These quarter sheets are a concept that makes so much sense that I don't know why they haven't been on the market before - I guess it's one of those things that after the fact you see 20-20.I use paper towels to clean my can opener. They say you can tell how healthy a house is by taking a look at the can opener. Just rinse and insert an edge of a paper towel and give it a rotation or two - clean. I also use paper towels in spring to start my veggie seeds. This is another place where the quarter sheets come in handy for the tiny starting pots. These paper towels are strong and very absorbent. Plus they're made in the USA.

What do you do with the extra 1/4 sheet??
I like the pick your size option for the most part, sometimes you don't need a full sheet and a half sheet will do. However, the issue here is you use a 1/4 sheet but then you need a half or full sheet so you're wasting that other 1/4 sheet anyway. There is no added benefit for the extra price you're paying to have this 1/4 sheet option. It's a good product regardless, just not sure this added feature is really saving anything. Also my rolls came absolutely smashed like somebody had used them as a ladder. They were crushed in the middle about the size of a boot print. I know they came from Amazon that way because the exterior box was perfectly fine. So no blaming UPS this time.

Sometimes you get less than you want
Brawny makes good paper towels. Most of us probably already know that. These are soft and soak up quite a bit of liquid. These differ from the standard Bounty towels in their perforation. These towels have more perforations, so that you can tear off a smaller amount if less paper towel is needed. Each traditionally-sized paper towel is perforated in half and in half again, so that you can get four squares approximately the size of a toilet paper square. I don't generally need smaller sizes of paper towels, so this is kind of a novelty for me. In general, it doesn't really matter, and I tear off the regular amount. The one complaint I have is that there are so many perforations that sometimes if you go to tear one regular-sized paper towel off the roll with one hand, you come away with something smaller. This is annoying when size matters (heh), like when I want to wrap something in a paper towel (vs. mopping up a spill, where I could tear off more and use the whole mass crumpled together). Overall, if you're really into paper towels and you have often wished that smaller sizes were available, this is going to be great for you. If you are an occasional paper towel user and rarely feel like you're wasting them, you won't really care. I'd buy the regular Brawny paper towels over these. These work fine, except for that tearing with one hand issue.

When you want a lumberjack type guy on your consumer product, this is the way to go!
I don't know whether these truly qualify as BRAWNY, but there are strong and absorbent paper towels. Their new functionality (or gimmick) is that you can tear a single sheet into a half- or quarter-sheet for less expansive clean-up. I'm all for that, especially when neither Brawny nor it's big competitor, Bounty, is made from recycled paper! Not good. Moreover, Bounty has angered some customers recently with some their labeling practices; for example, seeĀ Bounty Select-a-Size Paper Towels, White, Huge Roll, 12 Count .I'd like to suggest you use products made from recycled materials or get a bag of reusable rags, but I know paper towels don't require washing, and just seem easier to use (although more expensive). These do work well, and the ability to tear off a smaller size is nice, but consider limiting your use as a supplement to a washable, re-usable alternative.

Like smaller size option, I'm cheap, less waste
I have been regularly using the Brawny towels that are the pick a size, (jumbo). Even with those choices sometimes the quarter sheet is too much so glad to try these! I like the option of what I call a half of a quarter sheet for all those little things to clean up instead of wasting and also useful for wiping little mouths and giving to the kids for their use. These towels are still the strong sheets just smaller. I order by the case on Amz subscribe & save so they are cheaper and I always have on hand..just something I find easier for me. I do wish the perforations were a bit more distinct so when I go to tear apart it's easier!
