This is the stuff!
If you're a model railroad builder, this is equal to or even better than the Woodland Scenics brand. The "triple" roll of Woodland Scenics brand has a shipping weight of 2.55 pounds, and is roughly $30. This product has a shipping weight of 5.85 pounds and is roughly $17. The math is simple, you are paying a lot of extra money for a lot of less product just for a brand name. As I said, this product is equal to or better than. I actually believe this product has more plaster on it, as it just worked while wet very nice. I have already purchased another roll.

Goes on great, falls apart after drying and moving
I was hoping this would work good, but not so much! It goes on Great, but comes apart very easily. I've worked with alot of plaster strips before and never had this issue. I don't recommend this for big projects especially if you have to remove it from something after it's dry. I casted a large torso last night for a body form. Like I said the product goes on Great, but when it was time to remove it, pretty much every layer came apart in sheets. Now I have to try and fix it.

Perfect model railroad hard shell
Perfect for model railroad hard shell scenery construction. Be sure to overlap so every area has at least two layers. Easy to cut to size. Keep the rough side out and smooth with fingers. Can then be covered with hydrocal for stronger shell and sculptamold for texture and subtle ladscape variations. Beware of the dust created when cutting. Do not breath this. Wear a dust mask when cutting. Keep dry and it will last months or longer.

Great for mold-making/life-casting! Safe on skin and strong enough to use as a mold for mixed plaster!
I used this for a custom latex mask project to make a plaster bust (life cast) of my boyfriend's head to do my clay sculpt. It was totally safe on his skin, no burning or anything like that, barely even got hot in there (his head and upper chest were totally encased, aside from nose holes). It was perfect for what I needed! Cheap, good quality, and you get a TON compared to the little packages from craft stores. I probably have enough to make another bust leftover (though maybe a smaller one lol). Obviously it didn't capture the finer details of his face which is why alginate is the standard for life-casting, but on a budget for a DIY halloween costume, it was great for me!

Far better value than WoodlandScenics!!!!
I used Woodland Scenics plaster cloth product before I bought and used this one -- WOW, what a difference! Not only do you get twice as much for the same money but, in my opinion, it's a much better product. There is much more plaster impregnated into the cloth which provides better coverage when applying. I also found that the cloth material itself was just a bit more "sturdy" which meant that it did not have a tendency to roll up on itself like the Woodland Scenics product does.ACTIVA's rigid wrap plaster cloth offers a much better product at a far superior price! This is now my go to product for my modeling needs!

Couldn’t live with this.
Easy to use. I love this plaster gauze, my 3rd 5-Lb roll. I would not want it any more sheer or thick ... I use single layer or double layers as I need for my project, often with wire mesh as backing. There is more sheer gauze but I do not buy that in bulk. I could not live without this product for the crafts I create.

Excellent overall
I bought this for making sculptures over a heavy paper form after finishing off a different plaster cloth. This is far superior. Edges, fiber and plaster distribution are all good making even coverage over my form easy. Exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend. Tip for users--I wet cloth in water before application plus brush elmers glue down on my form and this helps the cloth to stick.

Great for Cosplay mask making!!
I just started using this to make sturdy splicer masks as I plan to make some for myself and others to sell for conventions and whathaveyous. This is a little more expensive than using water paper and glue BUT..I feel quality is important, especially if I'm going to be selling these masks. You get a lot of product for pretty cheap and this 5 lb roll can go a long way if stretched out. This is great for other various projects as well, DnD landscaping or rough terrain. Great for scvience fair projects, costume \ display masks or props. Just make sure you use a sealer. Good buy though.

Great product. Other products might potentially be better value.
Used as part of process to create head mould for Halloween mask. Filled with plaster once set then used latex on plaster mould to create mask. Absolutely brilliant. Would definitely buy again. Only 4 stars as price could be slightly better value compared to other products used in the past.

Worked great for my mask
Worked great for my mask. It's a messy process so excess water that drips on your cut strips will cause the plaster to activate and dry before you're ready to use it - just a technique hint. Covered my face as instructed with petroleum jelly and did not feel burning or anything. After a few layers my mask is holding shape and is exactly what I was going for. Would buy again.

It's pretty good - def recommend it.
Before I bought this brand I was using the Nobel plaster cloth. With that brand, it's definitely easier to find in local craft stores for smaller quantities but it can get expensive if your going to be using a lot of it. So I splurged with this because it seemed like a good deal. Buying plaster cloth in bulk was a good idea because it isn't going to go bad (unless it gets wet - I hope not!).This cloth compared to the Nobel brand is a lot thinner. Like a lot thinner, which I found does not make it as strong. However, when you're working with plaster cloth those pesky bumps and holes that never seem to smooth out come around. Not with this brand. Because the cloth is so thin it becomes a lot easier to smooth the plaster down and create less unevenness! To make up for the lack of strength I made a mixture of plaster powder and glue (just elmers white glue) and brushed that on and that put paper towel over that - this smooths down unevenness and happens to make it feel a lot more sturdy ( I got this idea from UltimatePaperMache.com).I use this product for making masks, sculptures and I plan to use it on canvas to make a relief work.
