amazon did a great job getting me my knife on time
amazon did a great job getting me my knife on time, best price, sending it to where I was vacationing. This knife will serve its purpose, blade quality is poor, cheap steel, not the best for holding an edge. Disappointing factor is country of manufacture,

ALMOST a great knife
Dad carried a Little Finn as a hunting knife for as long as I can remember, and I also have one. They are ALMOST the perfect "Bird and trout" knife aka small hunting knife for small game, and if you don't believe in spliting the pelvis in the field, whitetail deer (instead of splitting the pelvis, you cut around the anus)It's narrow width (aka small belley) makes it great, and it has enough sweep to make it usable for skinning if you are carefulIt's big problems: The workmanship could be better (both Dad's and Mine have blade gouges from the courser grits of grinding) and it's only AUS-6 steel (don't ask me what steel Dad's is - 60 years ago, who knows what they were using) - and I'd like a little nicer blade guardI had a HIGH dollar custom made for me, and it works no better, and sometimes worse - the shape is just not right - shape wise, I think the Little Finn is hard to beatAt it's price point (something like $36 list - and cheaper at dealers) it's a darned hard knife to beat. I'd like to see say a ATS-34 or such version - and I'd be willing to pay for it

10 years later, the best knife for cooking around a camp fire.
While this steel is not usually the best for the woods, I chose this knife for the camping trailer because it can be easily washed without worrying about rust. The leather changed a little after the first wash, but in a good way; becoming little rougher and more rustic-looking.The knife still looks great, overall, and the leather sheath is strong and has held up very well after 10 years!

Great all around knife.
I've used a Little Finn for my hunting knife for years. It is small but is a great knife for deer hunting. It takes a razor edge well and splits the aitch bone of a deer very well, thank you very much. You just have to know what you are doing. This is my hunting knife of choice and couldn't be more satisfied with it.Great small game knife as well.
