The Black Stallion Returns

Walter Farley wrote a series of adventures with the Black Stallion.I and my siblings read them as children. Wholesome books!I am getting the first two of them to start my nephew in this adventure series.

This book was a great read. It kept me on the edge of my seat on every page. A good book to have for people who love horses.

I think this book was as good as the first one. I loved it! I read it out loud to my daughter, and she really liked it too. The storyline is compelling, and the race at the end is as exciting as the race at the end of the first book.

Since the 4th grade I have read every single book about horses that I could find. Mr. Farley's stories are at the top of the list! This story takes you to another place and time with lots of adventure. Good fireside reading even in my 70's.

The movie merged & omitted characters to simplify filming and key parts of the plot were totally changed. For example Raj wasn't in the race... The book is definitely better and explains why the bad guys are bad.

Perfect read

When I was in elementry school we were required to take a book from the Library each week, take it home, read it and retun the next week. I did but never read the book. I just took any book off the shelf. We had a substitute teacher who noticed that this is what I did and asked why I did not read the book. I told her that I did not like to read. She asked me what was the thing I loved most. Horses of course. She took this book off the shelf and encouraged me to read at least the first chapter. It took me 3 days to read it and I have been an avid reader since. I bought the book for my daughters some 40 plus years ago and now for my youngest granddaughter who is seven years old now. If your child loves horses, get this book for him or her. It is a wonderful tale of adventure.

Huge black stallion fan and I love these books. However I thought I was buying the black stallions filly and got the return of the black stallion. Which is no big deal cuz I was planning on buying that book too but need to fix the photo

I am a big fan of the Black Stallion series, and the second book in them is no exception! If you enjoy adventure, a good read, or like horses, this is a must-buy book. Farley's writing style is very readable, and I would recommend this to all ages, but especially young adults. Concerning the delivery, item arrived in great condition and sooner than expected, so thanks amazon! :)

it starts with someone trying to kill The Black...then...Abu comes and reclaims his horse...then Alec and Henry and Mr Volence all head to Arabia and a long trek across the desert to find Abu...and Alec meets the black once again...a very gripping book.

I read these books as a child and was pleased to be able to get hem reasonable price and quality for my own children.

A brilliant book . I absolutely loved it and I couldn't put it down! I would recommend this book to everyone especially people that adore horses like I do x
