Favorite Groundhog Book.
This is one of my favorite Groundhog Day books. It is about a little groundhog who goes to sleep and keeps waking up during different holidays, Halloween,Thanksgiving and Christmas. He sees things he’s never seen before and the witch, Turkey and Santa tuck him back into bed. Until his alarm wakes him up only to find out he has six more weeks to sleep. Such a sweet book.

Great story for little kids!
This is a great Groundhog Day story -- truly, it is a really enjoyable & beautifully illustrated tale for little ones at anytime! The young groundhog in the story wakes up early several times. Every time he awakens he finds adventures as he meets a differnt holiday characters, all who young folks will recognize. There's a Halloween witch, a Thanksgiving turkey, and Santa ... each of them take a turn at bringing the little grounhog back home. Then each takes a turn reads him a holiday bedtime story and offers him a seasonal snack such as apple cider at Halloween, pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, and milk & cookies at Christmastime. The illustrations are absolutely delightful and encourage wee folks to picture the story in their minds. The last page offers a simple explanation regarding the origin & background of Groundhog Day A wonderful book!

Quick Story, Good for 2-4 year-old
I was looking for a story to help get my son excited about Groundhog Day after the post-holiday letdown. We leep all of the holiday-themed books packed away with the decorations and so we need a new story post-christmas. The story is quick (8-10 minutes) and the art is good quality without being kitchy. The book would have been more enjoyable if the groundhog had a name (he is referred to simply as "groundhog") and there should be a bit more development between his meeting each character and them tucking in Groundhog for the night. Overall it is a great placeholder between Christmas and Valentine's Day.

Loved it!
This is SUCH a cute book. We really enjoyed reading it to our 4 year-old. Mr. Groundhog keeps waking up at the wrong times of the year and is put back to bed by a witch, a turkey and Santa. It's very cute. We bought a stuffed ground hog for our daughter to go along with the book. It made for a nice Groundhog's Day treat.
