nice book for aspring travel writers
This book contains a wealth of information for the new travel writer. Especially helpful are the lists of magazines that are not normally viewed as travel magazines and yet will accept travel-related articles. Interviews and stories from people who have succeeded in becoming either travel writers or photographers are also inspiring. In addition, the book includes a section on blogging and gives valuable tips for writing better query letters.

Great, but a print version would be better.
There needs to be a print version. The information is fine, but on kindle I can't access the info easily...if I am going to reference something I do not want to have to go to kindle. A book would be much better.

Exceptionally helpful
101 Places to get published is very helpful for an aspiring writer -especially a travel writer. There are many specific guidelines about individual publications with much more information about what is appropriate to submit to each of them than you will find in the Magazine Markets or Writer's Handbooks.Thare are also personal stories of success about how previously unpublished authors have landed their first acceptance. It includes advice from editors about the importance of being familiar with any publication one is submitting to and following the editors guidelines precisely. This book should help many to break into the field and so many alternative publications are listed by name there should be room for all.

All of the authors who worked on this book have a great deal of experience in the field. I have taken workshops with many of them and was happy to learn that they have put their knowledge into a format that can reach more people. The material covered in this book will cut your research time to a bare minimum. That will allow you to spend more time writing which is what most writers want to do.I highly recommend that you make 101 Places to Get Published in 2015 a part of your writer's research library.

Use it and you won't regret it
Very comprehensive. Information of this nature will inevitably become outdated with time but for now and the next couple of years it is worth many times the cover price. (Provided you actually make use of the information in the book!)

Gem of a book!
For anybody who has ever dreamed of a travel writers life, but didn't know who to pitch their ideas to -- this is a gem of a book! While it doesn't do the writing for you, it does give all the information you need to take the next step -- getting published. The legwork has been done, and neatly compiled into categories, providing a synopsis of each publication's focus, giving contact information for editors as well as tips on what to expect and how to succeed. This is "lead you by the hand" information!

This is something I will refer to again and again.
As an aspiring travel writer, and photographer I found this book an excellent insight in to how to get published. The authors freely share their inside knowledge of the publishing world, and provide links to suitable websites, as well as guidelines on how to submit your articles. This really is a valuable resource, whether you are a writer, a photographer, or both.
